Slightly off topic, but looking at your username and avatar, did you know Carlos is still playing? I narrowly missed seeing him a week or two ago- the non league club I follow were away to his current side but I couldn't make it over in time after work.

I've definitely moved into the "takeover is off" camp. Everything for me is pointing towards talks genuinely happening but then falling through in the last fortnight. And this Big Picture news has just sealed the deal. It's why we are suddenly getting fresh quotes from Methven and Rodwell to the media, but nothing in the weeks previous.

I am thinking similar but would go even further to say I feel the owners have been purposefully misleading the fans by leaking a particular narrative to local media (and other sources in circles not necessarily open to normal fans) knowing it will be leapt upon by the fans diverting attention from whats really going on with the club. The sole intention of giving Donald breathing space until the window closes. That way he can hang about a bit longer and hope results go his way between now and Christmas. When he will be able to bullshit us through the next window and get us to the end of the season more or less suppressed as passengers on his slow hearse ride to the crematorium.
I don't buy that it was done intentionally to "divert attention". Donald is sitting in a big house in Oxfordshire - he's not feeling any attention.

I wonder if Rodwell, with his EFL connections to Parry, knew these proposals were being worked on and spoke with Donald to come up with a ploy to delay time (i.e. a false takeover) with a view to then going with these proposals and blaming a combination of covid and these as a way of not getting a takeover done?
In a way youre right mate, If, at all there was any chance of this getting voted through in its current format what would be the point of attempting to get to the Premier League? You wouldnt be able to get a top 9 spot as the 3 clubs with the most stay in the premier with the top 6 have a deciding vote on anything, you would be fighting to be 11th place at the best (out of 18). If any billionarres want to buy us and they are richer than the top 9 owners they would vote it out so they would fail any takeover just because they could and will have the power to do that. This would be the end of the English game in a lot of respects
