Mrs EJK lived in Market Harborough for years. Her first job after leaving school was at the Market Harborough Building Society. Obviously after meeting me she smartened herself up but her local was The Talbot.
Brierleys was a store in Northampton long since closed down now. Is that the same family? One of my cousins married one of Brierleys sons.

Was the son Keith?

Let's hope so. If it is, it could be the reason for the brinkmanship (i.e it could be the buyers playing hardball and trying to screw Donald down, knowing that if he doesn't reach an agreement by early November he'll have to hope he's got £9m or whatever lying about to pay it off). Donald might not have used much of it but I'm sure he'll have been eating into it these last few months and ideally he'd just sell rather than having to repay. I've not heard anything about when it's due to be paid back mind, but would be positive if that was the case
I’m sure I read it around the time that Donald was saying it wasn’t a loan it was an investment in him and that it was given in October 2019

Can I just ask a question. Who actually is Bob?

I don't mean a gadgie who posts cryptic ITK stuff on RTG. I mean who is he in the real world? Whats his job etc?

I'm trying work out why he is apparently so involved in the club. If he's as thick as some claim its extremely worrying that he's effectively representing the fan base.
Tea lady. Nothing else makes sense.

Absolutely no idea mate. I know they lived in Brafield.

Ah,ok. It's just that a mate of mine lived in Northampton in the early 70's and worked for a company which supplied Brierley stores....they were in Northampton and Peterborough then. He did his supply deals with Keith Brierley, but told tales of Frank, the old man, coming into the store on an afternoon, picking stuff up off the shelves and flogging it off like a market trader from a stall.
No wonder they went bust!:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Just messaged my mam. Yes it was Keith. She’s called Angela. Even though she’s a cousin and lived in Northampton at the same time I did we didn’t know each other. I remember the shop, in Bridge Street? Haven’t lived there since 2007 so my memory of street names is fairly rusty, which is pretty poor considering I was in CID there for years!

They had a shop in Gold Street, but may have had another one in the town somewhere.

Yes you’re right it was Gold Street. That’s the one I remember. About half way up in the left. We were back in Northampton last year. It’s dead on its feet now isn’t it.

My Sister in law lives there and I have a friend who lives there too.Haven't been for a while, but they all say it's a ****hole now. Shame....pleasant,friendly place when I knew it........lots of nice parks I remember.

I really hope the Safc ITK's are correct..and talks are still ongoing..fingers crossed..

However, hearing club people say..club fully funded and debt free...why people worrying about share ownership and we the fans have a takeover obsession..

I worry things are not progressing at the pace we all hope..

However, a club source remains adamant Storey is not viewed by the club as a credible buyer, and current owner Stewart Donald is understood to be in a period of exclusivity with another interested party.

This dismissal has not deterred Storey from outlining his vision for the club in numerous social media posts, with one post including a picture of himself wearing a vintage Sunderland shirt outside the stadium.

Like Roger posted on rtg.
Storey is associated with that clown wraith so that's enough for me to not want him.

Mind, if true, I'm a bit worried that someone in the middle of key negotiations that could affect the entire future of our club is stopping to update "madbob" every couple of days. I get that he might know people at the club but he's not on the board, it's incredibly amateur if anyone is regularly keeping some bloke up to date with the ins and outs of something this commercially sensitive. We need all of this lot out the door.
They might be doing it for a reason. To let us know what’s garn on
