It was always going to be a massive task to appoint someone that would have galvanised all fans and got them back in unison but I am gutted we've appointed someone who has totally split the fans in half. On here and twitter it's very much black and white with this appointment and the same had it been Cowley. I think the only two appointments that may have had more in favour than against would have been either Poyet or Pearson. And even with them there were quite a few against them.
I really do feel if Johnson (and it would have been the same with Cowley) doesn't hit the ground running the pressure will mount quickly and may not be a great atmosphere to come back to when the grounds re-open.
I'll give him my backing, as I did with Parkinson who I was vehemently against beforehand, but just think we maybe should have taken a bit longer, widened the net, explored all options, than go with very much an option so divisive.

Can't say I am overly impressed with Johnson, mainly due to reading about his tendancy for streaks, I don't believe the sunderland crowd will be patient with him if we go on 7 game losing streaks, however the promise of actually seeing some attacking football is definately a bonus, and as such i believe with the players at our disposal that should definitely be enough for promotion. I firmly believe we have a squad good enough for promotion, but they have been held back by dour defensive tactics, and in turn affecting confidence
I agree with your point about the fans turning although I’m not sure they’d be as generous as 7 games. Have to disagree with the current squad being good enough, will certainly need a few additions especially if he wants to play with pace.

Totally agree with pace, that will have to be bought in January, blood some of the young lads like embleton and diamond, but until we acquire pace play a bit higher up the pitch and stop slowing the play down

Nowt like being negative just for the sake of it, you have no idea if he will be any good or not

In recent times, I’ve said Grayson would be ****, Coleman would be **** and Parkinson would be ****. I said Ross was inexperienced and it was too early for a job at safc.
Remind me how they all ended.
Maybe someone’s more clued up than you?

I think some people think if they shout loud enough SD and CM will still have all the control after the takeover it will become true

Na mate it’s full of ****, he just been plucked out the air by Donald to have a massive laugh at the fans

Ok i get it and still believe. Om on the bcfc page if anybody wants to quiz them on new gaffer. I'm already getting from them that we are haters and will we hate LJ from the start.

This is a very silly statement and very naive yourself, I’m afraid. Like people have said, it doesn’t matter how many billions your owner has, it’s nigh on impossible to attract big name managers in League One. We clearly failed with Poyet. Pompey have billionaire owners and employ Kenny Jackett. Managers with decent reputations won’t drop to this level. Lee Johnson has managed in the league above us for many years, so in that sense it is ambitious and a bit of a coup. I don’t really get how it can be concluded that our new owner is unambitious because of this.
Mate get real. We’ve appointed a manager who’s only target in his managerial career is to keep a team up. He received death threats from Bristol city fans. He’s currently out of work. Of course he was going to take the job. The outstanding candidate and most fans choice was pearson and Phillips who has a far better cv and was interested in the job. Why didn’t we speak to him? Because if we couldn’t afford poyet we couldn’t afford pearson. So it is unambitious because from the word go we are reluctant to pay to get a good manager in.
