I would be gutted if it is The Cowleys, we have a chance to make a real big statement of intent and show the football world we mean business and are on our way back! For me Pearson & Phillips is the dream team, Pearson takes no **** and can organise a team, Phillips would probably be still better than the planks we have up front and can surely inspire / coach them to up their game, the sight of super Kev on the sidelines would def boost morale amongst the fans, he’s been here when this place was literally rocking every home game he knows how good it can be.
The director of football is the most important appointment, if we do get the Cowley's in and it doesn't work then that's life, what the dof should be doing in the meantime is building the club from scratch again.

That's odd because I've just found this on a Lincoln City forum:
"Ifind it incredible that fans of other clubs are so critical of Danny Cowley. Even some Shrewsbury fans say they wouldn't want him to replace the hopeless Sam Ricketts. Shall we remind people of the Cowley roll of honour?

Just because that's 1 fans opinions of him/them then its classed on here as gospel. It's just like on here and the rtg boards...fans opinions differ.
I would rather look at the facts of what he/they have achieved.
I remember when big Sam got the job...loads and loads didnt want him and then nobody remembered that before he left as he had got us results.
Some people on here need to give their head a wobble and stop moaning about everything before they know who the manager is and the set up etc.
How many run of the mill managers have we had now???? Let's try something new but regardless of who we get there are no guarantees!!

To put the other side of Cowley I have been listening to a podcast that Huddersfield fans did the day after Cowley left and they weren’t happy he left, far from and really rated the job they did.
I can see plenty positives for the Cowley brothers to be fair. I just can’t see how it looks positive for the takeover and a sporting director but maybe I am wrong.

I don't think Lincoln were happy with them as they had a gentlemans agreement that they wouldn't target any of their players when they went to Huddersfield then they came in for Toffolo in the very next window.

The opening 20 seconds says it all. Thanks for sharing.

It’s no bother. Trying to research about them as much as possible to get some positive thoughts in my head about it all. Yesterday took the wind out of my sails. I was all about the Schwarz shuttle and ready for blast off.
I feel a bit better about them after listening to that. Could be what we need.

I am actually all for Cowley I think he is the type of person we need right now. What I don’t like is the impression it gives and that it looks like Rodwell is making the decisions. The sporting director thing has gone quiet and the hope it would be Stefan Schwarz looking unlikely too. It does make you wonder if the takeover has gone south I have to say. The positive messages from the ITKs have completely gone and it’s looking very bleak.
Small piece of advice to the people looking at a takeover would be we need some good news fast and I don’t think Cowley being manager would be the news people need to hear. We need to know the takeover is happening or close and what direction they have planned. Quick.

The appointment and the calibre of the Sporting Director will be crucial to our medium to long term future. Has someone said that Schwarz isn't coming in, because I haven't heard or seen anything to indicate that it's going to be someone else?
I firmly believe that the takeover will go ahead, there's too many credible sources like L'Equippe reporting it, and Donald can't continue funding us, particularly with no crowds. If he does a last minute U-Turn again, he should remember that only 10k Season Cards have been renewed, and the rest of the Fan Base would likely not renew while he remained in charge.

Also, if the reason Gus said 'No' was because he didn't want to work with a Sporting Director, then that should serve as proof that there is going to be one appointed. Up to now, Schwarz is the only name to have been touted for that role.

Whichever manager is appointed, and at the moment Cowley looks favourite, then they need backing to the hilt until such time that it becomes apparent that they don't deserve our backing. I for one, hope he's mega successful.

After listening to that and with Schwarz as Dof, I'd be over the moon.

first page of that alone should be enough to put the whole “they failed at Huddersfield” to bed

Yes the majority are shocked and disappointed. They aren't my first choice and if we appoint them it suggests that the takeover might not be as big a gamechanger as we all are praying for but time will tell.
