When it was released, it could have been true. When he was in surgery with a fractured skull, he was fighting for his life. Hopefully it was sensationalism and the club release calms things down a bit.

In matters like this, they should only report facts and not over dramatize it.

From my limited knowledge of the situation, if there's a bleed on the brain they pop you into an induced coma. That's a hell of a lot more serious and there's no certainty you'll make it. The Nick Blackwell injury pops into my mind

Was at the lane when he scored his first spurs goal against forest...a 20 yard thunderbolt. Was gutted that he had to move on but keep an eye on hull cos of all the ex spurs players you have. Was a the lane when he returned in December and was pleased he got such a good reception. Hope he is well soon and back playing

Well wishes coming in from the wider football community: England, the FA, Tottenham, Wolves, Fleetwood Town, West Ham, Arsenal, Stoke, Wigan, Lokeren, Burnley, Leyton Orient, Doncaster Rovers, Scunthorpe, Cheltenham, Bradford, Blackpool, Hull FC, Gareth Bale and Harry Kane have all tweeted.

Sports Bible have sent their wishes on Instagram. Seen lots of journalists too. Soccer AM and Match of the Day.

Clucas, Elmo, Bruce, Mannione, Robertson, Tymon, Bowen and Luer too with previously mentioned Henriksen and Snodgrass.

Football comes together at times like these.

Hope he gets some good news that everybody wants tomorrow.

Obviously not as bad as Mason, as it wasn't fractured, but I got knocked out playing rugby and it was about 12 hours before they could tell how bad it was as it was the swelling around the brain that was causing my problems and that developed over several hours
As it was I gradually started to get blurred vision, but after about 6 hours I was completely blind in both eyes (I must say that was a bit worrying!) Eventually (16 hours or so) the swelling went down, and my eyesight came back, but they gave me scans every hour or so during the night to monitor the swelling and I don't remember them being able to give me anything to prevent it (I may be wrong about this, I was a bit distracted!)

Fingers crossed that Mason doesn't get complications caused by swelling or bleeding

Shocker.

Hopefully we'll get a positive update tomorrow.
Absolutely OLM.
Thankfully the medical boys got on the pitch in quick order to tend to him, makes you wonder what could have happened if the players had not waved them on so frantically.

Memories of what happened to Michael Watson still make me fearful.

It is crazy and unjust how two players clash heads and one carries on to score the second goal and the other suffers an horrific injury. Our luck and that of our players is totally out at the moment.
Conte said at half time he wanted Cahill off because he could tell he was knocked by it but the player insisted on continuing.

Its only a matter of time before heading will be cut out of the game. To be honest after this horrific accident today and other injuries down the years it might not be a bad thing.

That would be a ridiculous over reaction. Soon you won't be allowed to tackle after the numerous horrific leg breaks etc.

It's a physical sport, these things happen.

They made a rule about concussions after the Lloris thing. Cahill just had a sore head, he didn't even have an egg at full time. The only reason he'd come off would be because he was shaken after causing that damage.

Then he should have come off, had a concussion test, and been deemed allowed to continue. The fact he looked groggy straight after but then ran it off suggests to me he was not fine.
