Seems to be some legs in this one. He's got a decent scoring record, 21 in 53 (was injured a lot this season, so only chipped in with 6), is quite pacy, and surely better than David N'Gog.

Maybe one of Comolli's French discoveries.

£8m seems to be the asking price for Roux but I reckon we could get him for about £5m

I've got to tell everybody about this rumour...

Liverpool are apparently interested in the Manchester United defender John O'Shea. The 30-year-old has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent weeks, with reports earlier this month suggesting that Sunderland were keen on the Republic of Ireland international. And according to the Irish Independent, Liverpool are one of five clubs interested in signing the centre-back, with Aston Villa, Newcastle and Tottenham also linked.

Its as unlikely as Xabi Alonso going to United.Liverpool are not,and I stress this are not interested in John O Sheite. They are only interested in good players.

I'm from the Republic of Ireland and I know first hand how bad O Shea is.I have to close my eyes when strikers get into the penalty area. He's always bound to do something stupid. He's a worse centre back than he is a full-back.And he's a dreadful full-back.He's so bad,He makes Wes Brown look good, and even worse than that...Degen.

I think journalists have a little competition amongst themselves to see who can come up with the daftest idea and see if they can sell it.

    Bozz.
So are Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown but we don't want to sign them either. They like O Shea have scored for and against us.Ferdinand scored for Liverpool when he was with Leeds.Roy Keane once scored for Real Madrid when he was with Man United, then again he did want to know what it was like to score for a big club.Michael Owen has scored for Liverpool but never against them. He's almost scored as many goals against his current club than he has for his current club.So has Torres,He's scored more goals against his current club than he has for his current club.He scoredd 7 goals against Chelsea and 1 for Chelsea.

Even if this has one ounce of truth in it (which I doubt it has) I wouldn't want O'Shea at Liverpool simply because he isn't good enough. Period.

It has truth in it.John O Shea has scored for and against Liverpool. So has Wes Brown and so has Rio Ferdinand. However Rio Ferdinand was at Leeds when he scored for Liverpool. As you said I also don't want John O Shea at Liverpool.Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown are also boyhood Liverpool fans.
Heres one.John Aldridge,Jason Mcateer and John O Shea have three things in common, they are all boyhood Liverpool fans, they all played for the Republic of Ireland and they have all scored for Liverpool against Man United at Old Trafford.

Yeah, most teams end up not even paying the full price. One example is when Robbie Keane joined us, £20m the quoted price, although I'm sure it would of been £12m + add ons.

The Robbie Keane deal was £10 million up front with £9 million going to Spurs the following summer with £1.3 million based on success. However what I'm unsure of is whether Liverpool actually paid Spurs the other £9 million.I don't reckon they did.I reckon Spurs gave Liverpool back their £10 million when he returned to Spurs. The Spurs return deal was £16 million in cash and £3 million based on success. However I don't see much truth in that,I reckon they just exchanged the £10 million.
