reports are suggesting that we're going for our original bid of £8m for connor wickham but hope to beat Sunderlands bid of £12m by offering them Jonjo Shelvey on loan for a year as a make weight
4 million for a year long loan seems a tad steep, especially if you add his wages on too. Hope Sunderland don't beat us, that would be rather embarrassing :/

I can't describe how happy I'd be if he came... I'm almost jizzing over next year's lineup now. Slight over exaggeration maybe..
Mata would be a great signing. Im slightly concerned there will be no place for Maxi next season, he turned in to some sort of goal scoring beast at the end of the season and it looked like he was loving playing for Kenny.
yeah i think he is considering he was there u19's star man, spain have a pretty lethal u21 side but england's aint too shabby either
According to Sports News Ireland,(I'm not sure how reliable the site is),that Liverpool will get Juan Mata.
I heard the Mata rumour (hope it's true) but didn't Comolli say the other day that we were targetting players with premier league experience ? unless he was lying.

He also said he won't rule out ''Overseas signings'' Sylvain Marveaux is heavily linked to sign in the coming weeks and he's got no premiership experience.

I hope the Mata rumours are true , but like I say we'll have to wait and see. None of us knew much about the Henderson interest until Sunderland confirmed we'd made a bit. We were hearing rumours about Scott Parker , Adam & M'Vila at the time.
I'm not too concerned , as I am confident that we will sign good players - since the owners have come in we've bought Suarez , Carroll & Henderson - three top players in my opinion that could be with us for at least 7/8 seasons.
Not heard much about Marveux recently.

Scott Parker never going to happen.He wants to stay in London,He's the wrong age for FSG.If Liverpool were ever going to sign him...it would have been from Charlton.
Yann M'Vila.I reckon if he doesn' leave Rennes this summer,I reckon we'll nail him when we get back in the Champions League.
Charlie Adam,theres is still speculation that Kenny wants him,as he feels that he's a deep lying play maker that would be more suited to away games.This could happen if the price is right.
However the likes of Poulsen and Joe Cole and Jovanovic departing and Shelvey on loan possibly to Ipswich to sweeten the deal for Conor Wickham may happen.I also reckon that Aquilani is all but gone.It just needs the required fee.

Speculation: The back page of tomorrow's Daily Mail makes for interesting viewing - it basically says Man United's bid for Phil Jones is in tatters and that Liverpool have stepped in with a £22million offer
Man we are spending crazy cash ( if true) wow!! Still think that money can be used elsewhere or better, not that I wouldn't mind such a promising player but....22, around the same amount as Torres when we bought him!

Remember when we suddenly stopped hearing about Wilson for ages until we forget he existead then bam, he signed right out of the blue.

Remember these new players have to settle and gel first. Lets not get ahead of ourselves or put to much pressure on them. Its great to be optimistic, which I am, but lets not go screaming and shouting about it. Lots of money doesn't always mean instant success.
