What's happened in the last few days?! Before I left people were going on about how Richardson is like a new signing now that he's cemented the first team slot because he's class, now people shouting we need to replace him? Ah the fickle nature of football.
 
theres a rumour doing the rounds that saints are in for a player named "duffy?" anyone wanna shed some light as to who he is??? surely were not going in for another exeter cb

Got torn a new one against Lesta and Millwall.
 
Leicester have a good enough squad to not need to worry about a player having an off game, and I thought he was alright against Millwall.

That'll either be Richard Duffy, the terrible Exeter/ex skate defender, or Shane Duffy, Everton young CB. Never seen him play but apparently he's highly rated, 6'4" too.

Cheers for that... That wouldn't be a bad signing If that had any legs tho it will prob be a loan first
 
Is a loan move for Sam Vokes worth a shout? I don't think he's getting in the Wolves team and I'm sure he's not out on loan elsewhere. I haven't seen him play for ages, so don't know how well he has developed, but just read he's been brought into Wales squad and he triggered a thought.

He's played for 4 different clubs on loan since he's been at Wolves and he's hardly been given a chance at any of them. He's been really unlucky with injury, however, his goal scoring record in the Championship is still pretty good.

That's not right is it?

I thought his Championship record was this:

Bristol City - 1 (0)
Sheffield United - 6 (1)
Norwich City - 4 (1)

Still 2 in 11's not amazing - but he's hardly been given a chance at any of those clubs to get into his stride
 
My mistake, his spell with Leeds was League One. So 1 in 8 in League One, and 2 in 11 in Championship. Hardly a glittering career.

Agree, he's not one for us.

It would be a step down, but I reckon a return to Bournemouth on a full-time basis would do him the world of good.

He's another player that's made the jump from League 1 to the Premiership and struggled. Beckford's another... Chamberlain could be another, maybe...
 
Hopefully Chamberlain isn't. I just reckon Vokes needs a new full time club where he'll be on the team sheet every saturday, like you say a return to Bournemouth would really help his development.

On the newsnow website, under the saints pages there is a rumour Barney may be going to Charlton a season long loan.
it's titled striker light.

Sounds right to me. Add in the fact that even if we did sign a new striker and shipped Barnard out, we would still only have 3 strikers - it's depth we're lacking, not quality.
