This is either going to be one of the busiest Transfer deadline days ever for Saints or nothing will happen.

I'm expecting the latter.......Puncheon to leave the only strong rumour at the moment thanks to loud mouth Holloway

We need a RB IMO. Richardson gets done too often and his decision making and passing leaves alot to be desired. Butterfield is slow and gets done by pace, though he has a cracking cross on him.

It's my opinion that whenever we get the opportunity to improve and strengthen, we should take it. It's very short sighted to say "we have plenty of RB's, why buy another?".

Clyne is young, pacey, has great passing and crossing, and can defend well. Would be a great addition. Much like Fox (though more talented), he is an improvement on the position.

Priorities are short term, visions and plans are long term. We are very much building around the latter, to which I am grateful of Nic and Nige for.

Clyne is all well and good if we're going to sort our priorities first - CB and then maybe striker. I don't mind either Richardson or Butterfield but neither strike me as being first choice come next season.

Clyne is fantastic, easily Palace's best player. Some fans rated him/rate him higher than Danns.

I suspect we'll offer Palace legend Butterfield in any deal for Clyne, as I'm sure they'd happily take him back. I'd rather we focused on this deal in January though.

Beckford would be great, and a complete snip at £3m but the more inside info says Everton want upwards of £5m.

CB is priority.

I have been saying this for weeks...

We need a CB and ST most pressingly, I agree. But what if there are no decent CB's that will match our wage structure, buy into the club ethos, be relatively young and have the potential to play in the PL? I'd rather have no-one than a rushed buy in desperation to please fans.

Well said that man

If a good player comes along at the right price and age and improves the squad then i'm all for it too. Butterfield was deemed to be not good enough at this level by Palace last season and no doubt lost out to Clyne. We're looking for players to be the best in the division and have the ability to play in the premier league. IMO Richardson & Butterfield won't be good enough. They've not done anything wrong as players for Southampton, it's just the way of Football.

I am positive that if we were to sign another RB then Richardson would react just as Harding has and up his game.
