Maybe Depay should play as a striker to help him learn how to be a left winger?
And Martial on the left wing to help him learn to be a striker...........**** I get it now LVG is a genius.

Just been reading through, Rooney has been terrible this season and I don't think there's many who would argue that. It would seem sensible to try and get some confidence into Depay (that is part of the managers job) so that a natural left sided player is in the team and play Martial up top. Nobody should be in the team with such poor form but Rooney seems to be?
If Depay is given a chance and doesn't take it and Rooney works hard to get back in then ok fair enough but that's not what is happening.
I said a while ago I felt Rooney is finished, but since then I have no doubt that our style of football under LVG has been culpible in that. It's certainly hindered him and probably accelerated his demise.
So putting Martial up front will only solve half the problem. I can guarantee you now his individual brilliance will enable him to score goals and mask our cumbersome football. But at some point (and it wont take long to see) he will also struggle, bcos our build up play and tactical approach will still be to play in front of defences and have possession without purpose. Martial on his own cant fix that.

This is why I suggested Depay as an alternative who would be more direct on the left.
I dont think either Rooney or Martial or buying another striker is going to solve the problem if we arent getting the ball in the oppo's box. That's where the problem lies. It's a tactical problem not just a player/position problem.
I've had a quick glance back through the thread in question.
You took every quote out of context.
By the way, I also didn't spot anything from yourself saying how brilliant Martial would be. You also knew nothing about him.
Whatever point you were trying to prove, you failed.
Actually, yes it would.
If we put Martial up front and gave him some decent service it would be a start.
Do you watch the same games as us?

.
Ha ha, yeah. Says the brightest star in the constellation.
At some point you won't be able to just say;
He's an ex player, what does he know?
He's a journalist, what doe she know?
He's an ex manager, what does he know?
He's just a fan, what doe she know
and accept it could be YOU that is wrong.
What exactly the **** is this meltdown you keep going on about you cretin?
When they stop talking ****e? Could be then. Until then though, it's best to point out when people are taking bollocks and having unwarranted pathetic child-like meltdowns. It's pretty embarrassing tbh. Imagine being like that in the real world.
Journos and melting fans though. Ffs Chief.
