I can't believe there are people trying to defend drunk driving. Unless your drink is spiked there is never an excuse.

Also Rooney was stopped shortly after 2am. There's no feeble next morning excuse there I guess.

nobody was defending it. the debate was about whether or not someone would necessarily know whether they were over the limit

Oh god I've found myself in one of those arguments where somebody is clearly doing/saying something but then claims they aren't. Sigh.

Ok. Ignore the word defending. Maybe downplaying, making random comparisons to other cases to claim it's one rule for one not for another rather than just saying that's a bit ****, making out it's a common thing, easily excused, everybody does it, etc.

Basically you drink and drive then you are a ****, but unless you kill someone it's ok cos we all do it.

You're getting rather worked up about something that nobody said. :emoticon-0112-wonde

Oh dear, now what was I saying earlier.
No excuse at all for this, he could employ a chauffeur.
Drink anyone <cheers><cheers><cheers> and one for the road<cheers> <laugh>

This^
I've always thought if I suddenly had ridiculous amounts of money the first person I'd hire would be a chauffeur
Mind you driving bores me anyway, but why would you drive yourself around and have to stay sober when you could have the flexibility to have a drink wherever and whenever and your driver would take you home?

I'd also hire someone to open my mail for me...I can't be arsed with that either (if times get hard I suppose my chauffeur could bring it with him / her and sort it while waiting outside the pub for me)

...in fact if I was loaded I'd hire someone right now to go to the fridge for me. Sadly I'm not so I'm going to have to go for a beer myself...I'm still grounded

Isn't that why you get married & have kids?

He writes on the way to the fridge.

Sky are doing plenty of editorial on Rooney getting nicked, but have made no mention of one of their lead reporters, Kirsty Gallagher, being in court this morning after pleading guilty to driving while three times over the limit.

Anyone who drinks and drives is a ****.

Zero excuses.

The laws useless too, should be automatic 6 months inside minimum.

If you drink and drive you do not deserve your freedom.

What about if you have a drink and are not under the limit? Technically you've got an exuse then as you haven't broken the law.
