I honestly don't think Rooney's motivated by money or trophies any more, I think he's psychologically fragile and just wants unconditional love from fans and a manager who will support him no matter what. I reckon the pressure at Utd may have gotten too much - back when he first joined we were in a slump and happy just to have an exciting player. Nowadays we have been the top team in England for the past seven years and the expectations have risen, so fans are demanding more and less willing to put up with him just playing well. He's got 23 goals and assists in the PL this season, which is the same as Mata and only four or five less than Bale or Suarez. Yet those three are worshipped by their fans and can do no wrong in their managers' eyes, whereas Rooney is criticised at Utd for not doing more and dropped to the bench. He may well look for a move to somewhere like PSG (particularly if Ibra leaves) or somewhere in Italy where the chances of success are lower, but so are the expectations and the fans would worship a player of Rooney's quality and standing.
