I must have seen a different challenge to some on here .

A mis timed tackle ?????

Wazza (or is it Rozza ?) lost his rag and booted the opponent in a petulant strop .

Was it assault ? No (by the letter of the law it actually was ).

Was it stupid ? Yes .

I'd honestly drop him until after the Euro 's to teach him a lesson .
One man is not greater than the team and he should have thought of that before he did what he did .

We'll get knocked out in the quarter finals anyway so like someone else has said it's not really an issue .

I wouldn't pick Barry for England unless there was a long list of injured midfielders. I'd rather have Parker as the enforcer and Wilshere or Lampard next to him. Off the top of my head, the best England team without Rooney I can think of:

----------Hart
Walker Terry Cahill Cole
Gerrard Parker Wilshere
Johnson Carroll Young

Though I've probably missed someone obvious.

I've never quite understood the media obsession with Scott Parker. He's a solid enough premier league player but I just don't see him at that next level. Of course gareth Barry is not necessarily at that quality either but I think he's always done fairly well in that role and I can't think of anyone better at the minute.

the difference between parker an barry is...parker can pass, tackle an is quicker then barry(maybe not by much) england will be better off when they **** off barry, lampard an terry

I'm probably wrong, because Capello and Mancini understand football better than I do, but to me Barry just seems like a really slow and boring player, wheras Parker does the same role with a whole new energy and drive about him, he can also attack too.

I agree about Barry as above, but I think England fans are way off the mark when it comes to Lampard and Terry. Terry is the best defender we have, and the most committed player, and best candidate for captain and a brilliant goal threat, what more could you want? Lampard obviously isn't young any more but he's still one of the fittest players and is just about the best player we have at using the ball, which is what it's all about.

completely agree with you there about terry, i think a lot of people just dont like him as a person...as a defender and captian i think hes fantastic and with ashley cole and joe hart, the only english players with anywhere near half a chance of been selected in a worlds best squad.

barry i've posted my views on him, terry i'd take if ferdinand is injured if not i'd have smalling an rio as a centre back pairing...lampard i feel his best days are behind him at international level in the last world cup an in majority of the qualifiers he doesnt look up to the pace of it anymore wilshere, parker an gerrard would be my ideal minfield 3 with young an walcott/johnson as my wingers/forward 3 with well who ever sticks thier hand up in the next 6months an say i'm the man to lead the line big 6 month for carroll, wellbeck, defoe, bent, sturridge an zamora

The way he's started playing this season, I could see Andy Johnson joining that list.

i was going to include him in it but not seen much of him...sure theres maybe one or two that could join it aswell crouch has a very good record at international level...

I think it's about time England started playing like a team instead of a bunch of individuals thrown together.

Shades of NP and City? (It's a good job NP is nowhere near getting chosen for the next England manager.......)
