Oscars! They're on this weekend and another chance for actors to fawn all over themselves. They're actors! They act and tell stories. That is all! The world treats them like heros and they stand there in tears as if they've just achieved a miracle. <deep breath>
What pisses me off about the oscars is that the best movies never get the "Alleged" best award. Looking at the most treasured movies in history only a fraction achieved success at this backslapping bonanza. You won't have films like the Dark Knight or the shawshank redemption win even though they are brilliant just because it doesn't fit the "theme" of that year. Load of senile old the boys the academy, all the awards will blatantly go to the silent film ****e this year
I don't think its a case of not caring its a case of not noticing Colchester United could have gone out of business a month ago and no-one would have noticed. And don't get me wrong, I left League one with a new found appreciation for the lower league fan. When you see Carlisle fans come clean across the country just to come to a match were we were guarnateed the trophy and they were guaranteed mid-table just so they could have a party with us and have a good time following their lads it gives you hope for the power of football. It makes you realise the real backbone of football isn't at Man United or Arsenal it's in crawley and Tranmere and Stockport. These fans are simply amazing and a credit to Football. But Colchester, Colchester can go **** itself.
Just to point out, Labour began the attack on the disabled - it was they who signed the contracts with ATOS, it was they who created the rhetoric of hate, it was they who cut the funding for mental health services and imposed the nonsense of CBT, and it was they who attacked the Tories original plan of treating all benefits claiments as individuals - but let's not let the facts get in the way.
I won't respond as I fully accept the previously expressed ' reprimand ' that this a Football Forum and not a Politics Forum.
I'd like to see Lambert take the reins at Number 10. He'd have a busy time finding some new, hungry talent to give the rest of the cabinet a hand.
The fact that when I put a bag down to put the shopping in, the machine comes up with the message: unexpected item in the bagging area. Call centres in general but BT in particular.
No politics and you go and mention cheap Labour. In the spirit of balance I feel you should mention cheap Tory and cheap Lib Dem and to save space cheap Minority parties including UKIP.
