As said prior, in his 3 appearances Snodgrass has only played 20 minutes on the wing. He's been mainly used centrally which IMO is the position Brucey signed him for given the fact that's where he's played most and last season we were probably about as effective at attacking through the middle as a team of road cones. Wasn't there a stat posted on here the other day that we only played 7 through balls through the middle all season? Just to put that into context the average premier league side will play 7 through balls per match, never mind per season.
Its my opinion that we drastically need to replace Snodgrass, not only because we are more than desperate for some guile and attacking threat in the middle but we're now left with a whopping great total of four players capable of playing central midfield - less than we had last season - with even more games to play. If we're planning on playing 3-5-2 predominantly that's at least 2 less than the bare minimum we need.
Agreed, we should attacking through the middle and out wide, keep teams on their toes. We just seem to lack the capability to play balls in behind defenders, but I think signing a playmaker like Snodgrass was a great step forward. That Moralez lad on the other thread looked cracking, but as has been said before, I think a loan would be better, so maybe a youth player from a bigger club.
