Stan is spot on. All their best results have come at home. On safe turf with the loud support of their fans.
Away from home, their results have been mediocre at best. In almost all of them they started well but ultimately have come back with a disappointing result. Last minute goal conceded here and there.
As for his ability to get finals I agree with you. In two games ties, his ability to lift his team at home has given him unlikely progression in competitions. But he and his teams will face that huge psychological hurdle of having lost so many finals and through avoidable collapse. If I am honest, Sevilla was there for the taking and the game should have been in over in the first half. No one in the Sevilla camp could have hoped for such a start to the second half: 17 seconds.
All his teams will be viewed as having a soft centre that can be exploited. Score a goal back and they bend over for you..
As for United, I agree with many here who said LVG was a ****ing **** not to take the competition seriously. The away match at the RS was a disgrace. Not prepared, no energy and no surprise. It gave them the belief they could win any game at home and so it proved with Dortmund and Villarreal. Funnily enough, better teams on paper than Sevilla.
