Here's a comment from my Kosovan friend.

"I can't believe Chelsea did a thing like that to Tottenham.I now hate Chelsea more than Arsenal...Russian bastard!"

Wow! I never realize he liked the old Spurs so much!!!!!!!

No anorak or notepad notso, but done plenty of work on Network Rail and London Underground (Euston remodelling, Metronet etc.) Also stepfather/grandfather were railwaymen through and through. Wish I'd kept the Train Sets my stepfather had as a kid (wind up clockwork), they would probably buy me a season ticket (WHL) or two nowadays.

I messed it up as usual, I fell out with a foreman in Yr 2 when he asked me to make something for his personal camera tripod in work time. I told him I was there to learn about trains and to sit on his tripod....he was made Depot Manager when I came out after 4yrs, and he had say on who got what jobs. Needless to say the one offered me was lowest of the low, an electrical fitter up to his elbows in graphite grease allday...don't think so! so I told him to put it in the same place as his tripod and left there and then. :)

Hi all,
Just wanted to guage your thoughts and feelings on the Willian deal. He was literally pen in hand for you guys before Roman stepped in. Any theories as to why we scarpered your deal and does this affect your hopes of a top four finish and silverware this season? There seems to be little reaction/talk about this from everyone so I just wanted to see hoe you all feel about this.
Do you think it was a case of flexing influential and financial muscle or do you think that Chelsea were worried that with the right kind of signings i.e. Willian, Soldado etc... that you could threaten the status quo of the London scene?
No attempt to wind you lot up, just interested to know as like I said there is very little chatter going on, even on the Chelsea board about this.

Cheers.

Yes it will affect us, IMO. That is our weakest position at the moment but I'm sure others will disagree. We've got about a week still though so we'll see what happens

You lot don't need willian, so as DL says, it was mourinho/ roman getting one over on AVB and Levy.
£30mill is a lot for us to spend. We can't just blow money like that unless we're really sure. We don't need a player who is going to behave like that either. He comes across as a mercenary, and we already have adebayor!
As I said on another thread. - it could be a blessing in disguise.

Willian is a good player but a bullet dodged for Spurs imo, he is not worth £30m and that money could be spent elsewhere on players that want to play for Spurs who are not content to pick up mega wages sitting on the bench. Surely we can find somebody just as good for less or the same.

Abramovich and Moanihno signing Willian just because they can, stops a rival strengthening further.

It's just petty scumbag behaviour by The Russian Mobster and his Portugese lackey. Chelsea don't need another player of his type, they have enough already. It's just Abramovich using his ill gotten gains to get his own back on Levy, IMO.

Be interesting to see how much game time Willian gets if he goes there.

Isn't the story that Mad Dog has to spend his billions on CFC and act controversially (sack good managers, etc) in order to maintain a high profile, so that the Russian mafia (who feel they've been ripped off by him) don't try to take him out?

I should imagine that was the reason we didn't want his money when he came sniffing around us.

The best thing that could happen is that we keep Bale.

Andrew Askew: Who will score more this season Giroud or RvP? For me it will be Giroud.

BBC quoting the fans texting and Tweeting in always gets a few pearlers <laugh>

This year is going to be even more competitive than last. Even if Arsenal don't sign players if they can keep a first 15 injury free then they will always have a chance. We will have a lot of new players to try and form a team and they will have a settled squad. Plus they will have a point to prove as there will be a lot of piss taking that they have no new players. I will never write Arsenal off until we are guaranteed to finish above them and its been a bloody long time since that last happened!

I, on the other hand, was born to write-off Arsenal every season.

I've seen nothing particularly spectacular about arsenal in this match. First was pure luck, 2nd the goalkeeper palmed it into the middle of the area and the 3rd one was a good bit of skill by giroud and a well hit shot
