Now THAT is how you play no10, find a little bit of space and split them open with a smile pass Edit - while a smile pass is an awesome weapon I meant simple.
I've always thought Shelvey could be a top player and bit surprised Liverpool sold him, but possibly he didn't fit the Rodgers mould of a midfielder. Routledge has really come into his own at Swansea, just shows even if a player fails early on in his career, he can still bounce back.
Watched the goals on you tube. Was Townsend extraordinary against Tblisi and the next Bale or were the opposition that bad? Best wishes to Bale as he prepares to leave. Those Spaniards are going to have a time with his accent!!!!!!?
They were terrible, but you can't take anything away from andros' footwork, crossing and shooting. He played really well. 1 goal, 2 assists. Definitely our MOTM
Yep, you can only beat the team in front of you and andros was good. Composure for his 2 assists was something rarely seen on our right flank (sorry Aaron)
Before we elevate Townsend to LEGEND status, we should see what else he can do for us. Lennon tracks back and defends against counter attacks from our corners. Not so sure we've seen that in Townsend yet.
Thats a good point. Lennon often supports and even saves Walker with his pressure and tracking back. Andros did have a quality game though
Excellent point. These days players have to be more all-rounders than ever before. Lennon does do better work defensively, yet when drawing conclusions this is often made just on attackers abiltiy to attack etc. Whilst this is clearly the most important aspect of a game, it should not be underestimated. For example how good your centre forward is at defending the opposition corners etc.
The have all disappeared! I had a fantastic one, quoting some Arsenal numpty's predictions about how our new signings will perform this season, and I wanted to keep it in my signature so that it could come back to haunt him, at the end of the season. Have signatures been abolished?
