Rio Ferdinand has claimed that van Persie should've won POTY instead of Bale. Nothing surprising or even controversial about that, but his reasoning is extremely poor.
He believes that the Welshman only won it because of the timing of the voting.

'There's so much technology at hand that you could do it over an iPad and just say 'bang, bang, bang' at the end of the season.
'I am not just being biased but if it was voted for today Robin van Persie would win it by a country mile.
'But it was voted for by the players in late February or March.
'Gareth Bale is a worthy winner, but for me it isn't a true reflection of the season.'

Not sure what he's been watching over the past couple of months. Bale's form has improved recently and van Persie's has dropped off rather badly.

Agree. Scoring a few offside goals and penalties when the season was all but done doesn't necessarily mean he should have pipped Bale to the award.

Just to clarify PNP, my comment wasn't at you, but the one above...you weren't supposed to post before me! :)

I'm not aware the 'subject' swears that much, couldn't you find a parrot that just talked ****!

Either player would be a worthy winner. Rio has a point in that RvP shone in the early part of the season when Bale didn't. Bale was the outstanding player at the time the players voted and that was bound to give him the edge.

We all know how forgetful Rio is...its as easy as missing a drug test!

Unable to find the line here aswell!

"I'm not being biased" No, course not Rio. The fact that you both play for the same team is mere coincidence <doh>

I read it HIAG. Moyes to United is done. Mourinho to Chelsea agreed in principle.

Ah, my bad.

Well, nothing has officially been announced, yet.

If Moyes is appointed I will be gob-smacked. How on earth does anyone see him succeeding, there? It will divide the fan-base, and seriously damage share-pricing.

But, let's wait for the official announcement.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but i read in the Daily Star that Jack Wilshire has said he will leave at the end of next season,if the goons don't win a trophy

Like rats from a sinking ship...

too funny, i hope mourinho quits and goes to utd for free

The financial aspect of Mourinhos relationship with Chelsea is key here. Not only is there a contract release figure from RM of between €25-35m, but Abramovic has already paid out much the same to Mourinho when he terminated his contract.

That's a helluva lot of money to lash out to get your club back to where you were 4 years ago!!!!
