Nothing wrong with going into the CL with your squad. A big part of it is luck in terms of the group you get. But either way you're capable of getting the results to get to the knockouts and that's really the minimum you want.
Worst case scenario the squad aint so bad you can't finish 3rd and then you're in the Europy anyway.
CL is a 36 team single league next season...each team plays 8 matches with the top 8 qualifying for the last 16 and the next 16 playing off for the other 8 places. I don't think anyone drops into the Europa...
Bloody hell is it, had no idea. If it's anything like the cricket world cup format this year it sounds terrible.

I honestly don't know. I remember the UEFA Cup where you played (what appeared like) random clubs in your group home or away. That was weird. This just seems like one of those.
The thing is, having one group like in the cricket WC, it was all long winded and little or no excitement in the table until the last few round of games by which time no one really cared.
It’s done using seedings. So you’ll play 2 games against teams from pot 1, 2 from pot 2, 2 from pot 3 and 2 from pot 4. 1 from each pot is home and 1 is away. I assume the actual draw won’t be such a big event like it is now.

We're supposedly the most fouled team, yet we've had one penalty and more reds than our opposition.
Take Liverpool's filth out of the equation and we've had McGinn and McBurnie sent off.
If you're not Scottish, then you can do whatever you want.
It's actually quite clever...most clubs will have some chance of being in the top 24 with two matches to go...and there well be quite a few battling to be in the top 8 as well so very few fixtures will be dead.
I play football manager so have had a taste of the new CL setup. It’s quite clever and should keep it interesting until the last round of fixtures. 8 games with 2 games against teams from each pot with a home and away fixture against a team from each pot.
It hasn't been mentioned at all but Liverpool have a horrendously difficult run after this.

A person after my own heart. I agree, through playing fm I don’t think its to bad. To not qualify at all though as a prem team you have to be pretty bad although with the scheduling issues FM seems to have, always good to avoid that playoff round!
Well done to the ladies though. Looked touch and go for a while if they’d get back into it.
