Ings and Watkins are both decent forwards, but they don't complement each other. All 3 of them have been flops. I had high hopes for Buendia as he and Skipp were superb at Norwich last season, but it looks like he has 'Mitrovic Syndrome' in that he is too good for the Championship but not quite good enough for the PL. With Coutinho joining permanently you'd imagine he'll get less game time.
Ings is a useful player but 7 goals in 30 games is a really poor return for a club that aspires to break into the top half. There are rumours that they want to sell him already.
I'm not sure that either suits Villa's system as a loan striker, either.
Buendia's looked decent to me in several games.
He's been moved around a lot and Gerrard has changed his whole shape quite a bit, too.
He doesn't seem to know what his best team is, what formation to use or which style of play to adopt.
There's plenty of room for versatility and adaptability, but I think you have to judge that on results.
Change things around and win? Brilliant. Do it and lose? You don't know what you're doing.
