He would seem to be a replacement for Carrick.
A player who can pass the ball in midfield.
Something Utd have lacked since Carrick was a first team regular.
If he plays in front of the back four with Matic it should allow Pogba to play further forward. Utd look much more of a threat when that happens.

Palace have finally published their financial results which show that they are spending 78.3% of their income on wages. That' s just insanity. ****ing mental. Even Aston Villa and Sunderland's owners are shaking their heads in disapproval.

How they intend to pay for stadium improvements that are going to run to £200m, I've no idea? God help them when they get relegated. Thy're running out of stands to sell off to supermarkets.

No wonder they've been cooking the books for all this time.

It's insane really...... I mean Villa last season sere spending 88% of their income on wages for complete dross. It seems such a lazy way to do business. Some bog-standard journey man, lets pick a name out of thin air.... Jack Wilshere, will be offered something like £160,000 a week by Wet Spam and they will pay it because....... why? There are countless footballers who can do what he does...... which is get injured, mouth off at the ref and get another tattoo but managers and clubs are so lazy and incompetent they will just throw money at he tried and tested "names". No risk in trying a youngster from their youth team or from some talented kid in League 1. No hard work in finding the hidden gems. These type of players won't initially ask for this crazy money. It's the same reason awful managers like Lambert and Pardew keep getting jobs with Premier League clubs.

Everton striker Wayne Rooney is on the verge of completing his move to Major League Soccer outfit DC United.

Manchester United and England's record goalscorer agreed a deal in principle last month but was undecided about leaving Everton halfway through his two-year contract.

However, the 32-year-old is expected be in the United States later this week to complete the transfer.

"Talks are progressing," said Ian Monk, a spokesman for Rooney.

I would expect that Everton can't get him out fast enough. I saw him in the game at Wembley and he was a ****ing disgrace.

They've also got 5,000 players who play in a similar role to his preferred one.
 
Lanzini set to miss all of next season. Huge blow for West Ham. Think he's their main creative outlet.

Apparently, he was determined to stay in Italy. Besides, I don't think many clubs would be willing to offer such a lucrative contract for a 30-year-old.

You have to also bear in mind that Santon and Zaniolo were also offered to Roma, in addition to the Nainggolan fee. So the overall fee would be closer to £35m+ in this market.

Why did Roma let him go though, especially to a club they'll be directly competing with, in all likelyhood?
They don't appear to need the money. Are they bringing someone in?

I can't fully understand why Roma have let him go either. But it might be similar to the Cech situation whereby Chelsea let him join a rival purely for the loyalty and good service he'd given them. Seems like more of a sentimental decision than a logical one, mind.

Roma have signed Javier Pastore from PSG for around £24m. My assumption is that he is supposed to be the replacement for Nainggolan, but could be wrong.

Javier Pistore and Bryan Cristante, the latter on a loan with a compulsory option. It's also worth noting they brought in Ante Coric this summer, so we can add him to the list of ex-Dinamo Zagreb players playing in Serie A that we'll be linked with until the end of time...

Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere, 26, will complete a move to Turkish club Fenerbahceon Monday.

Other than being the only offer on the table, apparently he got great reports about the medical facilities <laugh>
