Even Aston Villa and Sunderland's owners are shaking their heads in disapproval. How they intend to pay for stadium improvements that are going to run to £200m, I've no idea? God help them when they get relegated. Thy're running out of stands to sell off to supermarkets. No wonder they've been cooking the books for all this time.

There are countless footballers who can do what he does...... which is get injured, mouth off at the ref and get another tattoo but managers and clubs are so lazy and incompetent they will just throw money at he tried and tested "names". No risk in trying a youngster from their youth team or from some talented kid in League 1. No hard work in finding the hidden gems. These type of players won't initially ask for this crazy money. Manchester United and England's record goalscorer agreed a deal in principle last month but was undecided about leaving Everton halfway through his two-year contract. However, the 32-year-old is expected be in the United States later this week to complete the transfer. "Talks are progressing," said Ian Monk, a spokesman for Rooney. I would expect that Everton can't get him out fast enough. I saw him in the game at Wembley and he was a ****ing disgrace.

Apparently, he was determined to stay in Italy. Besides, I don't think many clubs would be willing to offer such a lucrative contract for a 30-year-old. You have to also bear in mind that Santon and Zaniolo were also offered to Roma, in addition to the Nainggolan fee. So the overall fee would be closer to £35m+ in this market.
Why did Roma let him go though, especially to a club they'll be directly competing with, in all likelyhood? They don't appear to need the money. Are they bringing someone in?
I can't fully understand why Roma have let him go either. But it might be similar to the Cech situation whereby Chelsea let him join a rival purely for the loyalty and good service he'd given them. Seems like more of a sentimental decision than a logical one, mind. Roma have signed Javier Pastore from PSG for around £24m. My assumption is that he is supposed to be the replacement for Nainggolan, but could be wrong.
