It gets worse on the Gooner board. This is PESKIE's latest analysis on our signings and on AFC's own situation:-


"There's still a few days to go and the busiest and most exciting time of any window is always at the end, so I'm reserving judgement until it closes, if we can get Di Maria then it will be a transfer that blows Lamela, Paulinho, Chadli, Soldado out of the water, a truly world class player and exactly the sort of player we should be buying. If though we just end up with a couple of free signings, then somebody has to go and be replaced with a person who can get the deals done."


So, let's get this right...

Every single one of Spurs' signings (including Capoue, who PESKIE thinks is so crap as not even worth mentioning, and Chiirinches (spelling?) and Eriksen) are all dreadful (or, at best, average), and Di Maria, with whom AFC hasn't even yet been properly or formally link, is superb?

Di Maria has already said he doesn't want to leave. So has Ozil. Benzema has said nothing as far as i know, but if Man Utd are willing to let Chico go (to whoever) then they might be in for him.
The most likely one is Casillas(sp?)

That's the problem with Factitious' hoarding mentality - when they want to buy a new toy, they find out last year's expensive toy doesn't want to leave. Benzema has been linked with a move for the last four transfer windows but remains, it took a long time to move on Higuain, Khedira's name pops up here and there, Kaka and Di Maria seem to float around, they can't unload Sahin.

A year from now one of Isco, Illarramendi or Casmeiro will be linked with a move elsewhere. Last summer's expensive toy, Modric, has been linked away this summer after all.
 
How long will it take for Bale to become surplus to requirements, I wonder?
 
Its a total waste of talent that could be enjoyed by fans of other teams. If i was a footballer i would want to play first and foremost. Saying you "sat for Real Madrid" doesn't have any appeal for me
 
Arsenal thought they were on easy street after pulling Marseille from the second seeds, but then out came Dortmund and Napoli! <laugh>
Hope Rafa does better than he did against us the last time he was in Italy.

They are gonna struggle to get out of that!
Dortmund was probably the worst draw the could have had, and Napoli is probably the toughest from the last pot.
 
Celtic get the opportunity to get slapped about in all six games, drawing Barca, Milan and Ajax. Still, they stuffed the Catalans last time, so you never know.
Chelsea get a bye. <doh>
 
And the winner of UEFA Best Player in Europe (catchy!) is, of course, Lio... Franck Ribery?! <yikes>
Someone won't be happy...
