I think he'll fit into their system pretty well, actually. Hoofing it up to Carroll should be easy for him.
One of my criticisms of Dalglish was that he rarely seemed to use them both at the same time and often moved Downing out to the right when he did. Weird.
 
I remember stories of northern clubs,years ago,when they wanted players they yell down the nearest coalmine and produce a gem.
