Gillingham had Max Ehmer sent off in a league game and he had to serve his suspension in the next league game despite the Gills having a Football league trophy match in midweek and those are both FL competitions but I should have guessed that the premier would be treated differently lol.

I get what you're saying, and I agree it should be applied across the entire pyramid of English football at all levels, but it is what it is. We don't make the rules. It's also down to the chronology of the fixtures, which we have no control over. E.g. if our next fixture after City was a league game, then he'd have missed that, and I doubt you'd have been complaining about this. It just so happens we were fortunate that we had a cup fixture against lesser opposition which he was ineligible for.
