I don't remember Klinsmann ever getting booked for diving while playing for Spurs, the only one i can think of is the one when he scored his first goal

  2. Klinsmann didn't dive when he came to Spurs - that was the irony of the initial dive celebration. He had earned a (justified) reputation in Germany and was well aware that the hacks were out to bury him for it here. He just turned it in his head. So, sorry DL, but you are just plain wrong on this point mate.

Oh! Come off it. Please spare us the old bollocks. What Luiz did to that kid was far more than " clumsy". It was cynical, reckless and bordering on dangerous. I'm sure if the referee had had the benefit of seeing it as we saw it, he would have had no hesitation in producing a red card.

I think it's fair to say that it's not his best press conference of all time, Drogs. He seems a little stressed.

It 'looked' better in my head when I heard it on the radio. I imagined ear-steam and finger wagging.

    Still <laugh>

    Man under pressure <laugh>

    Man losing it <laugh>

He's not the first manager to have lies printed in The Sun that undermine him. He normally deals with it better though. I think it would be best for the fans and Wenger if he left at the end of the season, he looks fed up at the moment and it's not like him to let the press get the better of him.

It's attitudes like that which is why this country is in the state it's in. No doubt you wanted 15 year old rioters/looters on life sentences

This is (another) time the FA really annoy me. They claim they can't give any extra punishment when the ref has already punished the offence, because "that's the rules". Well:

    (i) Whose rules - well their's actually, so I guess they can change them to make them more sensible (unless of course they don't really want to).
(ii) A ref might punish what he thought he saw at the time, but as we all know what the refs think they see at the time is often not the case. If they stick to the "ref is always right at the time" it both prevents them from punishing offences that really were worse than the ref saw AND it further undermines the refs because people can see there was a mistake.
(iii) I'm sure the FA *have* handed out retrospective punishment when it suits them (probably when the media kicked up a fuss), so they've undermined their argument anyway!

But will the media kick up a fuss - of course not over a Brenford player. But can you imagine if this had been done to one of SAF's team? The rules should not be different depending on who gets attacked!!!

I laughed when I saw the Wenger interview for the first time and then I watched it again and felt a little saddened.

The fundamental difference between Wenger and Ferguson is I respect one, but wouldn't piss on the other if he were on fire. I should hate Wenger, he spent years obsessing over us and criticising us at any given opportunity but I can't quite help but feel a bit saddened at what he has become.

I remember Wenger as a proud, strong, defiant and charismatic man but now he seems a paranoid, shrivelled up wreck.

    I have some sympathy.

It was stupid by Luiz but he is a clumsy player not a dirty player. Can you honestly say its fair to compare Luiz's actions with that of Ben Thatcher on Pedro Mendes?

So it's official, less than 0.1% of United's fans come from Manchester.

I hated the cheating his players brought to the English game but the good was better than the bad for the most part.
