Blackburn want David Bentley on loan, and Napoli want Diamio to replace Cavanni, good luck with that then!
Well surely one is the cause of the other? Players these days have no respect/regard for the game and no sportsmanship/goodwill towards fellow pros. If a player dives 10 times in one game, a referee is bound to get it wrong at least once. When referees are missing leg breaking tackles/handballs then criticism is fair but otherwise it's hard to criticism them. Of course you get extremely incompetent refs like Poll, Foy, Anthony Taylor and Clattenburg but they are in the minority. Get down to a non-league game and you'll see real **** refs.
Agree with DL on this, as refs are being labelled incompetent or "****" when the players have zero respect for the rules, or the game, there are few (if any) players that actually respect the rules and virtually every player will at some point attempt to trick the ref in the hope of gaining an advantage. Of course there are ones which take it a step further, naming no names (rat faced weasel that players on merseyside) and these players dive, tug, use their hand, and will do ANYTHING needed to gain an advantage and they do it every game, A ref can have a good game, keeping on top of it and get one decision wrong and he's labelled useless.
If someone stole 200,000 of stuff from "my mansion!" I would put in a threat or two too! But who would want a couple of cousins like these, who might turn your home into a brothel while you were away? Jermaine.Spend some of that 60,000 a week on some proper security for goodness sake!!!!!
I'm with you on non-league ref's D/L,trouble is they are the P/L ref's of tomorrow,and many don't improve!
Not sure I can believe what I just saw..... The official on the goal line (what are they called?) was standing on the line - but then moved back away from it as Alonso chased the ball to clear it off the line. So effectively preventing himself from seeing whether it crossed or not!!! Bizarre!!
Well, the game at O.T. should be interesting!. Utd defended for their lives - De Gea gave one of his best performances. It all means that Real have to score at O.T. I'll be interested to see how Utd play in the return leg.
Hard to believe Modric isn't a regular playing like that, the second best Real player on the pitch. Good away perfomance from United, has reaped a great result for them.
One player that deserves a mention is Carrick, considering he never looked out of place and performed better then Alonso at times, in fact wasn't Utds best players Carrick, De Gea & Wellbeck, three players that are subjected to a fair amount of stick! Rooney worked hard and RVP had that chance to win the game, bottled it? or just unlucky?
Real will still go through. I've always said its better to have the home leg first. United can't park the bus at home and if Real score first then it's tie over. United will throw everything at them trying to get a goal back and Real will just hit them on the counter, it'll be Six and the City all over again. If United score first it has no bearing on the tie, Real know they need to score and if/when they do the tie changes completely and all the momentum is with Real. United go 2-0 up, tie isn't over at any stage. Real to 2-0 up and it's tie over. Advantage Real IMO
1 away goal in a 1-1 draw isn't great for United, 2nd leg's not going to finish 0-0 is it! 2-2 and its Real, actually if Real score twice thats game over imo.
They certainly did enough to win it outright last night with Ronaldo having the chances for a hat trick. He looked a little awkward last night, something I've seen from him a couple of times before. Get physical with him and he can be bundled off the ball fairly easily.
They're still in the tie and even kick off with themselves ahead on aggregate so I make that a great result.
Only if the result is 0-0 YV, I didn't say they were out of it mate, only that their away goal is useless in any other score draw. If Real score 2, United need 3.
1-1 in the away leg effectively makes this a one-off cup tie for Utd with home advantage. Away goals are only a factor if Real score two or more- if they do, then there will be no complaints if that is enough for them to go through. I'll settle for a home game with nothing to make up from the first leg. Who wouldn't? I saw enough last night to suggest Real's defence is a serious Achilles heel. With Utd having more possession higher up the pitch and with a threat at set pieces from the likes of Evans, Welbeck, Vidic and (strangely) Evra, I can't see Real scraping a 1-0 win. There will be goals. 3-2 to Utd perhaps? It will be far from easy for Utd, but there it could have been a lot tougher (and we could have been facing tougher opponents than Real,I think).
Rubbish! if its nil-nil, United go through on away goals, and that is the only instance its any good to you.
Real we're pushing hard for a winner and left themselves exposed, as so often happens in those circumstances. Your defence held up far better than I expected, and De Gea probably had his best game yet. However, unless you plan on playing for a 0-0 draw at OT, you won't be able to play that eleven behind the ball, arses to the wall, game. If Real score one, there's all to play for. If they score more than one!.....
