tbf, tuchel doesn't seem the easiest to get on with.

Then you have the poor start to the season

and lastly whenever i new boss comes in, they typically want their own man.

Hes in england. How often do you get promoted up in England.

Just have a think, you guys had an opportunity and didn't want to pay the buyout fee.

Man United have been a basket case and he hasn't had a chance.

    Newcastle plumped for Howe.

Sometimes you need to grasp an opportunity and believe in yourself.

and another year is a long time in football. - this time last year, we were watching the dross of Nuno.
Perhaps Arsenal may part ways with Arteta? Ten Haag doesn’t work out at united? Conte doesn’t stay at Spurs long term? Newcastle use their financial clout and bring him in as they feel he’s an upgrade on Howe? Who knows.

But what we all know about Chelsea is that managers don’t last longer than about 2 years before it all ends badly.
He’s just been given millions in the transfer window to improve the squad. What… £250m+? And he’s been sacked a couple of games after the window has closed. Crazy.

Wherever you are in the world, you're never more than 1 mile away from a Chelsea Manager!

    <laugh> BBC article comments.

Of course, but considering you’ve given him £280m to spend ad he’s been backed heavily with predominantly his own players, it does seem quite striking that he gets fired a week after a transfer window like that.

Also, he won you the Champions League 18 months ago, got you to two cup finals last season which you lost on penalties to a top Liverpool side and comfortably guided you to a CL spot, despite all the turmoil off the pitch.

That’s why I think the decision hasn’t been (mainly) performance-related.

    He did deserve more time.

I'm worried that it will be Potter. Potter is a great manager and could do some serious damage with that team. The only thing is that he probably hasn't had to deal with that level of ego, which could lead to another ManU situation. Note comments about why would he given what happens to managers at that club, but history tells us that every new manager seems to think that 'it will be different' with them.

I don't think we need to feel sorry for Tuchel it's the kind of job most would grab where you earn millions and if you are deemed a failure you get millions to go.

It's the sack Jim, but not as we know it!

It would be a gut wrench if it was Poch, though I don’t think it will be. Potter would do very well there although I think he’d need time, by all accounts his Brighton team are immaculately drilled behind the scenes and a bit like Conte, I think he’d take a bit of time to get into his stride without coming in at the start of pre-season because he’s so precise in what he wants from players. Zidane would probably have the most immediate bounce and might be a good fit for managing some of the personalities in the squad.

One bird in the hand is better than 2 in a bush.

You could argue United is a basketcase and will be a bad job etc etc

Or maybe Potter will start drawing and losing matches and lose his opportunity like Howe who at one time was flavour of the month.

As you say historically Chelsea haven't given managers a chance but theres a new boss in town who wants his own man. Money spent is irrelevant.

Even you guys sacked Poch after giving him the biggest spend he had and he was the messiah

I'm not sure that Potter will take the job, if it's offered. Saying no is the smart move, for my money.

Chelsea currently resembles the wild west. The owners are flashing their money at anything and everything, like they just struck gold or oil. It resembles PSG from a few years ago and that didn't work out for any coach in the last few years.

Potter's got great support at Brighton from sensible owners, who know what they're about. He's not going to get found out as a one season wonder, because he isn't. He'd be better off waiting for a more sensible proposition, rather than potentially getting his reputation ruined by the new kid in town's rush to outspend the rest of the league put together.
