Playing a striker (of sorts) in the middle and him scoring goals: https://v.fodder.gg/v/6vdj6w Revolutionary tactics from The Best Manager Ever™.
Another example of why it's so important to have referees who understand and have played the game. Rio Ferdinand - as anyone who has played the game at any level - knew what Cedric was doing whilst Peter Walton was adamant Cedric fell naturally. I know I bang on about Reece James' handball at Anfield regularly but I can't understand how that is deemed worthy of a penalty and red (despite no intent) yet Cedric was no penalty at all.
Had Ronaldo taken the pen they'd have at least drawn - as bad as they are they dominated Arsenal in that 2nd half. Allowing that overrated bottlejob to take a high-pressure pen when we'd already missed a crucial one against Villa earlier in the season was never going to end well. It's been a disastrous week for THFC in terms of relying on others. Chelsea fielded an XI that 12 years ago would have been punished with a fine. Next up Arsenal have West Ham who never bother trying as hard vs Arsenal as they do against THFC and CFC. i still think THFC get 4th but it almost certainly means they'll have to win the NLD and/or take something from Anfield. I think it'll eventually be won on GD if I'm honest.
He's not falling, he's crawling. He's on all fours, looks directly at the ball and scoops it with his hand. If he fell naturally, then he'd have been on the ground about 10 feet behind Sancho. I think the thing that ****s James is that he moves his arm up towards the ball: In case anyone didn't see it or doesn't remember it. It deflects off his leg and onto his arm and then he kind of flicks out at it. The rules actually do have an exception for such a thing, but it's going in the net, so they ignored it. It's also Liverpool. We're well aware of how that goes.
Not a believer of addition by subtraction then? Getting Ronaldo in the first place was symptomatic of the problems at that club. Both he and Bruno Fernandes were luxury buys they never needed and they've made every other forward at the club progressively worse (including Martial/Cavani). If they had signed competent midfielders or defenders they'd be in a far better position than they are currently. Pogba, Matic, Mata, Henderson, Phil Jones, Bailly, Martial, Greenwood, Lingard and Cavani at the very least are all gone. In total it could be 10-12 players gone in one sweep. It's a massive rebuild that will take at least 2 years to get right IMO.
Newcastle up to 9th atm. What a job Eddie Howe has done since he took over. He’s even got Joelinton looking decent.
Jesus is obviously very angry at being linked with Arsenal: https://v.fodder.gg/v/33sv13 Never got a Premier League hat-trick and now he's scored 4 v Watford. Hodgson still not helping Liverpool.
I’ve not bought into that lie that you can’t sign good players in January. Yes it’s harder but far from impossible. I know he’s had funds to spend but he’s mainly using the players already there and they’re so much better than they were before under Bruce.
Yep: https://v.fodder.gg/v/5jyfs7 Rodri ignoring de Bruyne's dead body to score. Cleverly should've just put it out. Idiot.
I think all teams need a luxury player or two. Bruno was initially a huge hit but has tailed off massively over the last 12 or so months. He’s like the new Ozil; will stat pad against cannon fodder but goes missing when it matters. Ronaldo for me is a no brainer of a buy for any team. He’s phenomenal and if you can afford him, get him. He’s just joined a huge shower of **** at the moment and not even his efforts can likely help them, they may still get fourth but you’d have to say it’s looking doubtful, albeit this top four race has been wild so I won’t rule anything out. I think they need strengthening all over, not just defenders and midfielders but also attackers. Sancho has been awful and I said before they signed him it was crazy money, Rasford’s bang average, Greenwood’s a finished ****, Lingard’s average and off soon and Cavani was never a long term option. Looking at Utd’s current state makes me feel a little relieved knowing we’re not the only club with a lot of personnel issues.
Tomorrow the Spanners have to decide whether they want to at least finish in an EL slot this season via the PL. If they get beat then I expect them to finish 7-8th at best, and immediately forsake their PL game against them lot to go fully on reaching the EL final. "i still think THFC get 4th but it almost certainly means they'll have to win the NLD and/or take something from Anfield. I think it'll eventually be won on GD if I'm honest." I doubt anything will be required from the Poool game. 70-72 pts is probably sufficient to finish 4th.
Leipzig were 1-0 against Union Berlin with five minutes left. They lost 2-1. Shame. That assist: https://streamja.com/oeLmO
