Or "Tace", as they said in Rome about 2000 years ago. They also had a phrase that went something like this: Plures habemus antiquius quam Liverpool.
I've tried to find the translation croydon but can't. Plures is cry isn't it? Habemus is have but the rest beats me except that Sunday league town at the end.
At least you didn't see Romans go around trying to **** up the board rep of anyone who said they were long past it...
In fairness they are completely different owners. Mansour has invested in the local community and redevloped the area as well as Manchester City Football Club. He takes a less hands on approach and allows Marwood, Mancini and Teixera to deal with the day to day running of the club and makes rare appearances to games Abramovich has invested in Chelsea Football Club and the ground and is more hands on, managers are effectively puppets. To this day Mourinho is the only manager that refused to play ball and he was gone. Abramovich goes to pretty much every home game and is more extrovert about his passion Whatever people think of Mansour, he hasn't ostracised the hardcore Man City fanbase in the way Abramovich has with Chelsea's. The same people that went to City games 10 years ago are the same ones going now with tickets at affordable prices. Abramovich wanted to make Chelsea into a global brand and as a result Chelsea have a lot of tourists and boutique fans at games. Although less corporate than the Emirates and Old Trafford, it's getting there.
Similar can be said of QPR's last couple of owners - the former wanted a boutique club and jacked up ticket prices (plus changed their club badge), the latter are talking about a new stadium even though they can't fill the current one or the inherent problems in securing a site in West London.
Norwich went 2-0 up against Sunderland and I thought a thrashing would follow because Norwich are in good form. But Sunderland restricted it to 2-1 which was quite good for them. Now Chelsea are away at Sunderland next week and I'll be watching that match with a keen eye. We might just go above Chelsea. I know Chelsea have a good record up there but they are playing rubbish at the moment and a defeat or a draw at a ground they normally do well at will tell us how Chelsea's season will go. I don't like or respect Sunderland but this time I'm rooting for them and am fancying them for a result.
you don't need to spend wads of money for quality players, all you need is a good manager and good scouts and you can compete with anyone, Just look at the swans they spend very little on players and use local lads, we paid just £2 mill for michu a bargain and as good as anything around the premiership today. Fans think the more the player costs the better they are and that's simply not the case....
I really fail to understand why people place so much store in this board rep issue. Personally, I couldn't give a toss. I'm here to debate, air my opinions, and listen to those of other Spurs fans. I expect your rep was given a bashing by some mental infants that you've taken issue with. I'm sure that the Mousers who bashed me after our little " exchange of views" think that I will be so upset by what they've done.
Yeah, it's strange some boards really put a lot of store in it though hence why they can wipe out Spurs fans reps when they get jealous of our superior wit and intellect.
Chelsea are traditionally poor against sides out of form and good against sides in form. I'd rather Sunderland have won today. Look at WHU yesterday, lost two on the spin yet we lose to them. Fulham not won in donkeys yet we draw, QPR same at the time. Yet Tottenham, Arsenal and City were bang in form yet we get positive results. Don't think we will lose but I can see a draw on the cards.
No District, you're playing the way I've been expecting you to play since the season started. We're seeing the real Chelsea now and the Sunderland result will tell me a lot about the rest of the season for you. I look for signs to tell me whether a team will have a normal or an outstanding or a worse than normal season. Our win at O/T could just mean that we will have a better than normal season as it was a better than normal result against Man U. Sunderland for me is your measure.
Haven't Chelsea used the least number of players out of any team in the Premier League or something? They're doing the traditional Redknapp burnout, but they've started early!
