De Bruyne injury is bad news for City if it is a bad injury https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45200783
I wonder if there's a high-profile goal-scoring winger they can very publicly tap up, especially one who might want to leave the country he's in due to troubles with the local constabulary?
I'm worried that the narrative for Pool to finish runners up has already been written. As we saw with Leicester, once it's been decided it's very difficult to overcome. For example, if Pool are leading 2-0 and get an offside goal nobody worries because the narrative says that it is obvious that they were going to win anyway. Well that may be the case - but it isn't 100% of the time! If football was that predictable then order of the league would be known before the season starts and there's no point in playing any games. However apart from the winners (probably) we really don't know that, and once everyone - such as refs - make the assumption that Pool will be runners up then that will begin to happen, regardless of the merits of it.
It's not a case of if they are 2-0 up. It is if it is 0-0 going into the final minutes then 'someone' will need to arrange a goal-possibly via a dodgy penalty. Or if they are 1-0 up, the opposition will be disallowed a perfectly good goal.
Cardiff v Newcastle was dreadful.... Kenedy should have been sent off, doesn't pass to a teammate in the whole of the first half and then misses a 95th minute penalty!! Cardiff looked abject even against 10 men and will struggle to survive this season.
Terrible terrible game. Thought Newcastle had the rub of the green with the ref’s decisions too. Cardiff will have to step it up, like you say. Really poor.
