Although technically not really a rival (I wish), I was looking at Messi's stats after another 2 goals he has scored tonight.
In the past 9 seasons (inc this one) he has played 458 games and scored 449 goals. It's incredible. They say player burn out and all that but he manages to play over 50 games a season on average and average 50 goals as well! That's from the age of 20 to 29. It is incredible. IMO the greatest ever. Although tbf I wasn't alive to see pele and best etc. The only player I can vaguely remember coming close was Maradonna.

There was a certain Jimmy Greaves that had a bad habit of scoring a lot of goals......

This for me summarises everything wrong at Arsenal. The attitude and mentality are completely wrong. Has Welbeck not noticed that his team just lost - badly - to a rival and are now in 5th place, just a point above the team he has taken to twitter to gloat about?! If I was an Arsenal fan, I'd

A) Be inbred
B) Be absolutely fuming that a player could be so deluded as to see the United score as some sort of achievement in light of yet another tepid performance.

The only thing I would say against this is that he said it before their match with Liverpool. Even so it would have been wiser to stfu and put a performance in, get the win THEN go on twitter and make this comment. He looks like an absolute fool now.

Perhaps this is proof that Wilshere is being sold, if Wellbroke has been promoted
to Goon head crock / Twatterati.

I couldn't give a crap where they finish. If we come 2nd, whether they come 3rd or 7th makes no odds to me. I am enjoying them having to come to terms with the result of limited senior management. For years they've had it good. The David Dein/Wenger reign brought unprecedented success. Half of the fans on ArsenalFanTV have known nothing other than Champions League and trophies. A few more years of Kroenke, who isn't selling a cow that yields so much milk and eventually, an unsuccessful appointment to replace 'Lizard Features' and they will start to understand that their place in football is as window shoppers of the major trophies for the foreseeable future.

We're still recovering from Scoular and Sugar, even now. It's taken ENIC nearly 2 decades to reach a point where we could be a real force again. Liverpool haven't won a PL and given the financial disadvantage they and Arsenal and Spurs operate under when compared to the other 'Top 6' teams, we remain an outside bet. Whatever those 3 sides spend in the next few years will be dwarfed by United and Citeh and Chelsea. The only way to overcome that is to sell to another 'Oppressor of Their People' or unity, intelligence, hard work and good luck. It's a new world folks and Arsenal fans haven't got it yet.
