This is why I still don't understand JURGEN KLOPP!!!!!!!!!!!! deciding to take the Liverpool job: everyone and their pet hamster knew Guardiola would be leaving Bayern at the end of the season while the incumbent managers at Los Ladrones and Chelsea didn't look long for their positions (and they weren't) and there was plenty of resentment bubbling near the surface about Wenger and Van Gaalling that could make those jobs available sooner rather than later, instead he decided to go for a club whose squad has gross abundance in areas that didn't need strengthening while it's seriously malnourished in areas it did, and Rodgers signing about seven No10s last summer has made the team unbalanced which means a costly overhaul is needed to get rid of the deadwood (likely at a loss) and replace various areas of the team.
Bloody hell! Arteta, Rosicky and Wilshere must be laughing. No wonder Arsenal87 is losing the plot over on the gooner board.
Given their horrendous injury records, I'd add Welbeck and Wheelchair to that list. As for Abou Diaby that's just laughable. He's played less games for them in the past 6 years than Eric Dier has played for us this season. The seemingly arbitrary nature of contract extensions must also be poisonous in the changing room. You've got the likes of Bellerin and Coquelin playing out of their skins, two promising young players, and they have to sit by watching as utter dross is paid 4 times more than them. One of the things I like about Spurs is how quick and decisive we are to reward effort and promise from our young players. At Arsenal, it seems as though the longer you hang around injured, the more you get paid.
If only the Goons could lose their CL slot, that would make their wages arms race even more amusing to watch (Kroenke would have to start spending their cash "reserves" - 30m quid to find immediately) .
I've just spent the last three hours downloading Yakuza 5 from the Playstation Store. It was far more interesting to watch than Leicester City...
Bayern currently 2-0 down at home to Juve. When the scoreline was reversed in the first leg, I thought that the Italians were basically out. Shows what I know!
McManamanamanamanaman convinced that Arsenal should have a penalty. Replays show that Iwobi kicked his own foot and fell over. Howard Webb still insists it's a penalty, anyway!
Yes I almost laughed myself into a coma when the main commentator said "It's a good thing Howard is with us to help us clarify right and wrong decisions" Meanwhile every single replay from every possible angle is showing the three of them up as utter bellends.
I'm hoping that Jonathan Pearce was being sarcastic. Probably not though, unfortunately. It's nice to know that Webb's still consistently wrong, even after his retirement. He made a similarly laughable claim in a recent Man Utd game, rather unsurprisingly.
Ian Wright and Gary Lineker shooting down the claims. Rio Ferdinand showing his Man Utd credentials by claiming that going down in the box = a penalty.
Arsenal pull one back. Plenty of time left. Barca's defence is rarely tested domestically, so it'll be interesting to see how they hold up.
