We need somebody to do well or we can easily lose our 4th CL spot. Just hope City can carry the flag for a while...
Disastrous night for Chelsea, so far. Injuries to Costa and Hazard. Looks like they're going out, barring something amazing. Their game against Everton on Saturday will be massive for them now.
They're done. As soon as it looked like they were out of this Costa and Hazard couldn't get off the pitch quick enough. Big rebuilding job needed there.
If a team were to win the CL or EL and finish outside of the top four, then they get a bonus spot now, effectively. It would only matter if both competitions were won by teams outside of the CL places, which seems rather unlikely.
"not so chripy in here today?" Wrong. A great UEFA tie against Dortmund to enjoy tomorrow. And if comedy is your thing, you can watch the first of the 'if you spend at least 200m gross in transfer money in 2 yrs, you expect to finish above Spurs' Cup games instead.
Normally I'd say that playing Everton away means that Chelsea have a very realistic chance of getting knocked out of the FA Cup, and they did lose to Everton earlier in the season, but Everton are such an enigmatic side at home. It's so hard to know what to expect of them. At Goodison, they've lost badly to Manchester United, Stoke, Leicester (understandable), Swansea, West Brom and West Ham to name a few. Not great. In terms of personnel, I think these are some of the best players that Everton have had for a long while, but it's not been reflected in their league position. They did get to the semi-finals in the League Cup, so the players clearly care about winning a trophy to make up for their indifferent form in the league, but Chelsea are in the same boat and you'd expect them to respond after losing tonight. Difficult one to call.
Chelsea out today.Arsenal out next week.Could the old Spurs continue to fly the flag for London against the flyers from Germany?
Hazard was swapping shirts at half time with Di Maria. Can't stand that kind of ****...poor attitude.
At this point, all Chelsea are doing is keeping him from his move to a bigger club, who will pay him more money. Precious few Chelsea players have bothered trying this season. Very few of them give a crap and I reckon there'll be 2 or 3 of them left in a couple of years. They are the antithesis of Tottenham.
But how good are those Everton players. They're very much hyped but does that mean they are good? For a few weeks Stones was out of the team and Everton's goals conceded record improved substantially. He was back last weekend and they conceded three. To the "experts" he is the future of English defending and a shoe in for the Euros. To me he has a lot to learn, and if he's going to be great it's "going to be" not "is".
totally agree with that, disgusting, most players worth anything, or one who cared about the club would have to be carried off before leaving the pitch, the fact they both walked off speaks volumes about their commitment.
