He is defending making the decision to sub Oxo. It was correct at the time if Oxo was tiring as Wenger states. It proved costly, but that's the beauty of hindsight.

Arshavin isn't the best player we have, but would the substitution still have been a bad one had he come on and scored a couple to win the game? No.

But he didn't and was never going to - you really don't get it do you?
Even someone as myopic as Whinger - or you - should be able to realise that........ And there was Benayoun on the bench as an alternative....

Are you suggesting that Arshavin is incapable of scoring 2 goals for Arsenal or that you can see into the future? Please say yes to either just to prove me right in my opinion of you :)

It's unlikely that Arshavin's introduction was going to have a positive impact on the game HF, judging by his contributions this season.
Van Persie appears to agree.

You must be Arshavins agent - no one else (including your captain) wanted to see that waste of space coming on!!
Personally hope he gets a more regular game - should see your lot end up mid-table!!!

Neither this or PNP's comments answer my questions, but then an honest answer would show you to be wrong, wouldn't it.

That aside....would you like to buy Arshavin from us? He could replace Moderate in the summer :p

Anything is possible, but we're not dealing with what's possible, rather what is probable.
Bringing on Arshavin was probably going to be a **** decision.
It was.

Because he's been ****, lazy and disinterested.

He does have that look of laziness about him, but considering he has played less than Modric, he has only scored one goal less & one of Modrics was a penalty. Is Modric only moderately less ****, lazy & disinterested?

Modric isn't a goalscorer.
Arshavin is and he's scored less than him.

The only thing that's lazier than Arshavin is your comparison.

Arshavin has had about 30% less play time than Modric and Arshavin has an excellent striker in front of him, which Modric doesn't. Poor excuses PNP.

They don't play in the same position and unless you want me to do the whole Brunt > Xavi bit again, you'll avoid this ridiculous line of argument.

That's my real name, PNP.

Your real name?! <yikes>
Don't use your real name on this site, for ****'s sake! <laugh>

Half Full - Arshavin is rubbish, has no interest in playing for Arsenal and everything that used to be so magical about him is all but a distant memory.

Only Wenger would sub off his best player in the game for someone whose body language in the last few games has shown that he does not want to be at Arsenal anymore.

I love Wenger for everything he's done, but it's clear as day that his time is up and he needs to go.

I can't disagree. What Wenger has done for Arsenal can never be underestimated. However, I fear that he, and the plot, parted company a while ago.

It looks like Spurs and Chelsea are caught in no man's land for the rest of the season. Too good to finish outside the CL places, but too far off the pace to mount a title challenge now.

Does anyone think Spurs could overhaul both City and United?

Utd,yes, possibly. City are too far ahead, and have too much strength in depth.

I think there is still plenty of opportunity for £ity to screw things up. They had a lucky break against us, in a game that they should have lost, and they should have had Baloteli banned for the next three games.

I haven't given up hope on catching them, just yet.

As for United, I've written them off too many times in the past, only to be confounded by old Bacon Face. Getting 3 points at the Emirates was no mean feat, even if Arsenal is no longer the side it used to be, and bearing in mind the fact that United haven't been firing on all cylinders, themselves.

I think it will still be a close run-in, to the end of the season.

Balotelli's already been sent off this season, so if he does get a ban, it'll be longer than 3 games, won't it?
