Anyone who can argue that the way Mourinho behaved isn't constructive dismissal is worth every penny.
It'll be settled out of court, because Mad Dog won't want the adverse publicity of a public hearing. Too much dirty washing is bound to be aired.
It's a lose-lose situation for the Chavs: win and they get negative PR for bullying a member of their staff to protect Moron, lose and they...well, lose
A survey of 2,000 West Brom fans found more than 70% want striker Saido Berahino, 22, to be dropped from the first team to the reserves after he expressed frustration at missing out on a move to Tottenham. (Express and Star) What ****ing reserves! West Brom barely have a first team!
I couldn't help but notice this heap of bullshit in yesterday's Standard... Spurs had two bids turned down for the England Under-21 forward in the final hours of the summer window, prompting Berahino to tweet that he would never play again for Albion chairman Jeremy Peace. That stance is now thought to have softened but speaking at a fans’ forum, West Brom director of football administration Richard Garlick insisted his club’s mind was already made up. The lack of time available to sign a replacement convinced them to hang on to the 22-year-old. “It wasn’t until deadline day that we received a third offer in the morning and then a final offer in the middle of the afternoon,” said Garlick. “By which stage neither the offer nor the structure was acceptable and we were left without being able to get a replacement in for a player. That was it really as far as the club was concerned. Note the dates for the two is long before the transfer deadline.
Liverpool v United this weekend. I like this game because it stresses the referees out not knowing who to give the dodgy decisions to.
Yes, the 'Pool v United fixture has, for a long time, been viewed as one of the biggest on the planet, not least of all for the dilemma it causes for the ref, and many thousands tune in to find out which team the ref ends up plumbing for. In recent seasons, especially when Howard Webb was in charge of the game, there was a definite faouritism towards United. I think what 'Pool have to do is get in a few early dives in order to test the water, and see if the ref is going to play for them. If the ref turns a blind eye to it, then 'Pool might gain some confidence to keep pushing their luck, and go for a massive full-on "shot in the back-arms outstretched-arching back-legs kicked backwards off the ground- Born On The 4th of July-starring Tom Cruise" dive in the penalty area for that all-important penalty. Personally, I think the ref will be playing up front with Rooney.
Del Bosque has said he won't make the Euro squad if he doesn't play this season. My guess is Mr Woodward told him to sign a new deal so that, if he does leave, they will be guaranteed a fee of some sort or else he won't play this season, thus jeopardizing his place in the Spain squad. I'm sure there's a minimum buyout clause in that contract extension, though. You don't suddenly choose to sign a 4 year contract somewhere less than two weeks after you were prepared to leave the damn place!
Either way, it's a win-win situation for you. If he does leave, you will be more or less guaranteed a very large fee, probably a record fee for a goalkeeper, given that Madrid have more money than sense. If he doesn't, you keep one of the best goalkeepers in the world at your club. So whichever way you look at it, it works in your favour.
Looks like Woodwards's learned from the Fellaini debacle. Although looking at the Martial fee, perhaps not
And, either way, it doesn't really matter, Little Luke, because United are never going to win the title, anyway, so what does it matter?
Real's pissing about, trying to nick him on a free, might've pissed him off. The talk of a massive, backdated pay-rise, resulting in an immediate £8m bonus, probably didn't hurt, either.
I know, from my own experiences in life, that it often takes someone coming forward and making a play for you, before those that think they already have you take stock of the situation and realise that they have to work a lot harder to keep you.
"Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, 35, says he would have stayed at the Reds had they offered him the right job" - let's just ignore he was stalling on a new contract for over six months before heading for a final payday at the MLS retirement home.
Everton 2-0 up against Chelsea after 22 minutes. Totally dominant and it could easily be more. Shows how well we played against them in the last game and how badly Chelsea are playing at the moment. Ivanovic looks absolutely awful. Wonder what's happened to him?
