What I want to know is,why has the stupid one bought Pedro, when he wants a defender,is it to stop another P/L club strengthening, they will sell him next season, like the last few players they bought
That's exactly why he did it, meaning that Pedro will now be spoken of in the same breath as Steve Sidwell. What I want to know is,why has the stupid one bought Pedro, when he wants a defender,is it to stop another P/L club strengthening, they will sell him next season, like the last few players they bought
Just looked up Charlie Austin's goal last night and it was a fairly typical old-school centre-forward's header from a good cross.
We don't have many players that deliver them in open play. Trippier, perhaps.
Benik Ofobe scored again for Wolves. He scored about 32 last season at League One and Championship level, IIRC.
Wonder why Arsenal sold him, rather than loaned him out?
More I see that the more I get wound up at how shocking a diver Young is.
Did he dive much at Villa? I only remember him tearing most defences a new one when he played for them which is why he was so sought after, yet since his time at Utd the only thing he's been known for is imitating Tom Daley.
Criticizing players has only ever worked for Fergie, no other manager. Think of all the top players that Fergie pissed off, and yet he was still able to instill fear in the rest of the team to force them to go out and get titles for him. All the best managers down the decades have been fearsome bullies, like The Smug One is trying to be.
What The Smug One hasn't worked out, yet, is that times have changed (which is probably one of the reasons why Fergie ****ed off when he did), and it is the player who holds the real power in a club.
He might get an immediate positive response, but I think that, over the longer term his tactic can have only a negative impact on the team.
A number of players - Ronaldo, for example- still refer to him as a second father...
Reece Oxford received his GCSE results this week, thus making him better educated than any of Wet Spam's supporters.
That might be the popular perception of SAF for some, but in reality he was just the opposite. He was like a father to many - supportive, encouraging, concerned, but keen to ensure that the players were disciplined and understood their responsibilities too. A number of players - Ronaldo, for example- still refer to him as a second father and credit him for making them the players they became. You don't get the best from young people by bullying them. They respond much better from being encouraged and from being made to feel valued individually and as part of a team.

Van Gaal leads his team through another uninspiring game, yet they're unbeaten and haven't conceded in the league.
The fans can't be happy watching that load of dross every week though, surely? A team that's definitely less than the sum of it's parts.
Bournemouth get their first goal, and it's against the Spanners!
Sweet!
