Chelsea have quite a large number of old players in their squad and arguably weakened themselves with one or two signings, too. Costa's injuries still seem to be an issue, Remy's unfancied and Failcow looks pretty shot. That or a pretty similar word. They have a bunch of really impressive prospects eager to replace the aging legs, but they ****ed them all off to Holland. I don't think that Chelsea are done in this window.
Pedro's a good signing, in my opinion, but he alone will not be enough to win them the league again. Still not convinced by what I've seen from Chelsea and, as PNP says, I think they're not finished looking for players yet because Mourinho knows that he won't retain the league with the squad in its current manifestation.
Man Utd haven't wasted any time in looking for an alternative to Pedro and have made a bid for Mane from Southampton. They're obviously trying to replace Ashley Young's valuable dives, as he enters the twilight of his career.
He dived against us on the opening day. Dier got booked and absolutely slaughtered him for it. He may have stood on a landmine though, in which case I apologise.
If he'd have run into Dier then he wouldn't have flown into the air like that. It's a clear dive. That's what really annoys me with Young. He's absolutely **** at diving, yet he still gets the decisions. His movements are totally unnatural and the officials still fall for it.
If you were running at speed and somebody stepped across you (catching your forward leg as they did it) what would be your strategy for staying on your feet?
Not fall in the complete opposite direction to the one I was running in. Which Young clearly does in that video.
Looks like a foul to me. Young has played the ball about half an hour before Dier attempts the tackle. Dier plants his right foot very close to Young's right foot. I can't tell if he makes contact with Young from that gif, but if he didn't his tackle was still reckless and late. A booking either way. Whether Young's tumble is theatrical or not is immaterial to whether Dier fouled him.
Alex Song: West Ham agree deal to sign Barcelona midfielder http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33996711 I doubt he would have been suitable for us, as he plays as a defensive midfielder.
[QUOTE="littleDinosaurLuke, post: 8267925, Whether Young's tumble is theatrical or not is immaterial to whether Dier fouled him.[/QUOTE] But it is material to whether he is a cheating diving cock...and he is! You do not fall 'theatrically' ...you dive...that's what he does and has a long record of doing
Young dives but that Dier one was a foul imo. No contact but then there doesn't have to be. He is still a diving cock though
