Whose Prem team had Cech in it? He's at least a couple of years too old at this point. The announcer correctly analyzed the third goal as Cech's fault for being too old and creaky to get down quickly enough.

I haven't watched other teams too regularly other than Spurs and the top teams, but Lloris has been much better, and quite possibly the best in the league. I've seen De Gea be superb at times, but he had a bunch of clangers early on; he may be a rising star.

I do truly think Lloris is the best in the league but having such an off-form team in front of him hasn't done him much good in proving so.

Just hope PSG or Monaco don't try and lure him back to France. Though no doubt Real will make their annual bid for our MVP.

PSG would be favourites for Lloris. French team. Tick the "CL" boxes players go on about.

  4. Second half, Le Blanc did a far better tactical job than The Smug One. Chavs were utterly destroyed.

That explodes any lingering doubt that the myth of The Smug One's "tactical genius" is just that - a myth. Sherwoodie is better.

Lloris is not the best, he just gets more practice than the rest.

I don't think that their keeper is all that, either.

Cech isn't quite as invulnerable as he used to be, but Chelsea already have his replacement in Courtois.
    The Belgian is exceptional, unfortunately.

  7. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho criticised his side's "joke" defending and blamed his misfiring strikers after a 3-1 defeat by Paris St-Germain left their Champions League campaign in trouble.

    What strikers?
    <doh>

They only had Torres, who was brought on in the second half; and we all know that Torres is about as useful as a chocolate teapot, these days.

With Brad and Gomes going, Spurs have nobody except Lloris.
What is happening with the Academy GKs ??
Their current path is nowhere near as far down the line as Courtois.

The way we're playing at the moment, I'm surprised he hasn't developed lumbago from constantly bending down to pick the ball out of the back of the net.

Archer seems to be 3rd choice, he's made the bench a couple of times ahead of Gomes.

I reckon we'll see a new keeper arrive in the Summer, two if Hugo is tempted away.

Archer's been third-choice this season ahead of Gomes, but he's never played at a level above League Two, whilst in terms of our academy players Jonathan Miles had a couple of games with Dag & Red last season while Lawrence Vigouroux was on loan at Hyde FC between October-January and did well...although the logic of loaning a young keeper to a team whose current league record reads P40 W1 D7 L32 is questionable, as the experience they'll receive could also be classified as post traumatic stress disorder. Still, he did perform heroics for that one win, earning them a 2-0 win shortly before returning.

Wayne Rooney's denied diving to get Schweinsteiger sent off in their midweek game.
Shame that it was on film, really. He might actually convince somebody otherwise.

Pictures don't really help his cause, either.

Rooney dived, all those that pander to his status as a UTD/England player and deny it are hypocrites, as the above picture shows his explanation is bollox.

The look on Schweinsteiger's face says it all - you can practically hear him saying "****'s sake..."

    In German.

  16. It's how the legs have been thrown back that give the dive away.

No one falls over like that.

While Barton's a complete an utter prick, his point about English players - Rooney included - not being world class is actually bang on. The media has always glorified every half decent English player that, when an International tournament comes around and they disappoint, the world seems shocked, when in reality it shouldn't be as most English players are average.

Barton was right with the Rooney-Ronaldo comparison too, had Rooney had the same mentality and dedication as Ronaldo, he could well be up there being considered as one of the best.

Like I said, Joey's a prick but I do think he's made some valid points.

As for his hair... Lets just not go there!
