  • Premier League

  • Champions League

  • FA Cup

  • League Cup

  • As much as Everton and Spurs!

But so far they've only bought a replacement for Cech (2nd choice GK) and loaned Falcao (replacement for Drogba, 3rd choice striker).

Also rumoured to have bid for Pedro (replacement for Salah and Cuadrado, both bench warmers) and bid for Stones (presumably a long term replacement for Terry)

None of their activity this summer is for the first team and only Pedro would get anywhere near first choice.

No, they were the best of a bad bunch, United and Liverpool were very poor (compared to how they should be), Arsenal were their usual selves and City only played for half a season. Most years Chelsea would not have walked the league with the season they just had and will need to strengthen if they want to defend the title.

It's more than that though. The prize this season has to include the CL and imo their first team is nowhere near good enough. The way they got passed off the pitch by PSG was embarrassing. I still dont think their first 11 is good enough to succeed in the CL. Pedro would be a massive plus for that though.

English teams in general were embarrassing in the CL last season. You are right of course about Chelsea, their first 11 are not good enough to win it and the tactics they use are unlikely to confound the better teams in it.

San Jose Earthquakes are offering free Manchester United shirts to fans who buy tickets for Wednesday's clash with Louis van Gaal's tourists. Tickets remain on sale at the 18,000-capacity Avaya Stadium and in an attempt to boost numbers the MLS club is giving away United home jerseys to supporters who buy two or more.

Can't fill a ground holding 18k, really!

Well, he is one of the best players in the world

If you were going to classify players into several different classes where each class contained players of the same quality and so different classes distinguished different levels of quality, since he would be in the class containing the best players in the world, you might even call him "world quality"

Or the more commonly overused term 'world class'
