I don't rate Sherwood but the 'honeymoon period' might give the the necessary boost. I think its three of Leicester, Burnley, QPR and Villa and I can see QPR picking up a bit and surviving.

Thing is, I've said all year that QPR will survive and they've been much poorer than I thought they would be <laugh>

I wouldnt mind QPR going down, they lucked out in the play off final, 1 ****ing shot they had and it went in <doh> And im not all that keen on London clubs.

They got their first away win the other day, their owner was saying this Ramsey has got everyone happy and that again.

We all know not to listen to you after claiming Januzaj was better than Sterling :bandit:

I have a bit of a soft spot for QPR. I think its because of the early 90s when they had Les Ferdinand and Trevor Sinclair etc.

I think sherwood will keep villa up but it will be a short term fix.

Did you hear his dig at the likes of rodgers "some managers talk about projects but winning games is all that matters" sounds like a man without a plan to me. His churchillian speeches will only get them so far

Most long balls attempted in Premier League this season:
Burnley 1861
Man United 1701
QPR 1681
Leicester 1668

What is classed as a long ball?
I have heard it is anything over 25mtrs, if that is the case then any time a fullback passes down the line to a winger it is a long ball, if a player spreads play from one side of the pitch to the other (seen as a clever thing to do) it is a long ball, if a midfielder passes from the centre of the pitch to a wide striker guess what, it`s a long ball. How is a long ball bad?

i reckon the point is utd are a bunch of hoofing donkeys and its funny.... plus it really annoys utd fans to be laughed at and they can't take it....

Hmm, one loss in last 18 games, third in the table with 13 games to go, i would love it, love it, if we became the first team of hoofballing donkeys to win the league. Imagine the outrage <laugh>

Pressure starting to tell on Poyet

He told assembled journalists at Valley Parade: "The problem is you, not me.

"I'm not going to get involved any more. If we close Sunderland - if we put a China Wall around the city - it would be fantastic.

"Now when we let you in and you get out and say what you want, we've got a problem. I invite every Sunderland fan and people around the club not to listen to any one of you - only to me."

Poyet even took issue with a question about the absence of Jermain Defoe, responding: "You need to know too many things and we try not to give you too much information.

"He was injured, he got a little problem on his calf and we don't know how long it is going to take."

Because the season has finished...

So once again what's your point? Bcos you sound a little confused. If you're going to quote a stat for long balls up to this point then why talk about 38 games? As soon as I mention we're 3rd right now you suddenly say the season hasnt finished. Sounds like you're just making it up as you go along.

Btw United played close to 2500 long balls in 2010-2011 and over 2500 long balls in 2012-2013. Ofcourse I could point out that we've also played the 4th highest short passes this season after arsenal, chelsea and city but that would be as irrelevant as what you've posted bcos it's not about the length of the pass but the purpose and effectiveness of it <ok>

I saw the interview. Pure gold considering his general smugness with the press when he wins. I have a general dislike for Poyet so thoroughly enjoyed the meltdown tbh.
