If fans want to invade the pitch stewards as never going to stop them, merely due to the weight of numbers.

That's why you show them there will be serious consequences <doh>

The fact that it was good natured is entirely the point and adding a narrative that simply wasn't present would be ridiculous. I'm sure the FA will hand out a fine, but people really need to get a grip and keep the issue completely in perspective

People feeling threatened, damage to the stadium, and police and stewards being ignored is not "good natured"

What and stop thousands of Villa fans who might never get the opportunity to see their side at Wembley again the chance to go the semi? Because they got carried away with the moment yesterday? ****ing ridiculous

Nah mate they should give Villa more tickets because their fans are obviously dead passionate and deserve it like <doh>

We're never going to agree on this one so I'm leaving it there.
It'll be interesting to see how the authorities view it.

Spoken like the true armchair you are. Sometimes football fans get carried away after season defining games and invade the pitch - end of season relegation or promotion games etc. it's always happened and always will.

People like you whipping up some overblown sensationalist ****e, off the back of equally overblown media reporting make me sick. You're trying to make a major issue out of a load of nothing.

Btw I'm sure if it was the red ****e doing the same, your view would be somewhat different as well.

Essentially tho.. purely for insurance reasons it's a big no no, health and safety nazis, big no no. The PC brigade, big no no.
Someone took a boot, big swing, player earns between 5 and 10 times a week what the guy who took the boot earns in a year and do they even pay for boots these days? I thought Adidas and co threw that kind of stuff at players, ffs if Justin Bieber ventured into the crowds of teenage fans he'd probably be killed stone dead, there was never a threat of anything like that, just fans that collectively blew off steam, and the bites, did anyone actually bite him or was it more over excited hysterical villa fans nibbling on him in some weird expression of joy and appreciation<laugh>

This is a pitch invasion ffs

my ONLY concern would be safety though to be fair, anyone wanting to avoid such a thing ust stayed in their seats.

It wasn't bad, but the powers that be do NOT want it replicated and so the hammer has to come down, if this was happening often, people would be getting hurt or killed. So not bad, it was just spontaneous but it can't be tolerated.

Will make them think twice about doing it again...

Or just fine the club 30k which has 0 implications on the fans and doesn't deter them from doing it again....

It's March FFS.

Sometimes? Name the last 3 times this has happened in a televised top flight game <ok>

Same here, it's always been there and always will.

So I asked for 3 examples. You got to 1. Which was 3 years ago. When City won the league for the first time in 44 years.

And followed it up with the old "always been that way" argument.

Top stuff.
