So Kriztian Nemeth would have been WPOTY if he had gone and developed at United instead of Liverpool right? Apparently nothing to do with natural talent but just find the club that'll make you WC

Natural talent only gets you so far. Without the right coaching, management and support it will often be wasted.

Some of the worlds best youngsters went on to nothing. Others becames greats. Messi at barcelona. Any other club and he doesn't make it as a player for example.

Did you seriously just suggest that C.Ronaldo and / or Messi wouldn't have made it as a footballer had they not taken the path they did...? <laugh>

You keep making big assertions about what people thought, said or did but never name them regarding Ronaldo prior to or after he signed for utd.

And who are these "worlds best youngsters that went on to win nothing"?

Are you saying C.Ronaldo lacks self motivation and desire...? Personally, I'd say those two assets are what make him the player he is today. His drive to be the very best at every aspect of the game. Being at Man Utd or any other club wouldn't have made the slightest bit of difference to that. Different clubs would have told him to focus on different things but he'd have still become the player he is today regardless of which club it was.

In fact, from your logic you could argue he could have been a better player had he gone somewhere else rather than Man Utd :)

I guess you have forgotten Ronaldo at 18. He was nothing like the player you see today. A series of events alongside working under SAF helped make him who he is. The death of his dad for example. Trust and faith placed in him by United. Even after the world cup in 2006.

Even by his own admission, United played a massive part in the player he is.

You are aware Barcelona funded an expensive and long term treatment for Messi arent you? One that without would have meant he never played professionally. At least not anywhere near the level he is at today.

Where have I backtracked? You are the one talking bollocks here.

As a child clubs were refusing to pay his medical bills. Barcelona stepped up and said we will pay it if you move to spain.

The rest is history.

So no club paying medical bills for Messi would have stopped C.Ronaldo making it eh...? <whistle>

Well considering he needed the treatments then no. Its pretty basic stuff.

And ronaldo needed no treatment. He needed someone to take him under their wing and help develop his game. That man was Fergie. Theres only one Fergie.

Imagine Ronaldo at Liverpool with the worst man manager ever, Rafa. He wouldn't be anything like he is now.

What crippling genetic problem did Ronaldo suffer from that only Man Utd could pay for treatment? His inability to stand with legs closer than shoulder width apart?

He almost joined us whilst Houllier was in charge. He'd have been a better player too :)

Robben is a good example of right player at the right club. His ability was never in doubt and his mental strength was always tough. Yet at Chelsea and Madrid he was never anything like top 5 in the world.

A move to a club that is about football under a manager who nurtures talent though. That made him arguably the third best player in the world.
