The reason he wanted to leave was because Monaco have changed their strategy slightly and were selling off their expensive players. Had just sold his International team mate and his friend and probably thought was nothing left staying in Monaco for, if he can get someone to match his ridiculously high wages/take home pay.

If it was between PSG who can offer him CL football this year, or United that can't... pretty sure would only be one winner there.

If City wanted him, they would have got him. Simple fact is, many might have been interested but you were the only one to make a firm offer. Pretty clear Madrid was where he wanted to go.

He wanted out of france. Have you see the standard of football in there league. He could play for any team in the world for silly money.
 
Anyway. Regardless of why they joined, who was it who said we wouldnt get players like that? Come on, own up.

Lets be honest here, if united are paying these silly wages and others wont, what do you think will happen?

Is that why no one made an offer for him this window apart from United, despite his agent whoring him out to the rest of the World and him even saying Hello Madrid in one of his tweets <doh>

Again, maybe they just wanted to come. Mendes can benpretty persuasive. Its why he earns more than most players. Van gaals stock was very high after the world cup so maybe he had some pull. Weve also got a massive **** off stadium thats always full. Lots of boxes ticked at united.

Mendes is persuasive in getting his players to the clubs willing to pay the most because he gets a much larger pay off that way, which is why the football world were stunned when he negotiated Falcao to Monaco over Real ... he got a massive pay off! Real was and still is where the player really wants to be but it's generally felt that Mendes has put his own greed ahead of the player's career. Being 3rd party owned has been difficult in Falcao making his own decisions.

Yet hes ended up at united. We have no sugar daddy, no government backing. Weve lost out to players in the past to other clubs paying more. About ****ing time that changed.

Claiming we wanted him is very different to making an offer. Yes, we may well have wanted him but when they said, you need to pay £6m and £350k a week in wages for him, we all went... nah you're alright.

United on the other hand said sure we'll do that. Not sure how that's him choosing you over any of those other 3...?
