Claiming we wanted him is very different to making an offer. Yes, we may well have wanted him but when they said, you need to pay £6m and £350k a week in wages for him, we all went... nah you're alright.

We know full well all three showed interest. Where's the quote to say he turned any of them down? Maybe, just maybe, all three (especially us and Arsenal) bulked at the figures. In fact, considering the FFP restrictions on Man City, them too
