I know Mark posted elsewhere. .... but sad news about Dennis Bond... He was a very good player and a star for me in those days
He was my hero during his first spell with us. Does anyone know the cause of death? 77 seems young these days.
A Fine player, delight to watch. He should never have left WFC IF the alleged tales of being led astray at Tottenham had any substance
No I dont think so Judging by his photos he could have stared in Grease or Happy Days if they had been made in those days
I may be wrong, but I think he may have been the first to follow that well-worn path from Watford to Sheffield United.
Although a winger for us, I'm pretty sure he twice played left back against us for Stockport - when they did the double over us in our 1968/69 promotion season.
Very sad. https://news.sky.com/story/amp/poli...-gene-hackman-and-wife-betsy-arakawa-13323478 Basically died without knowing his wife was dead too . Presumably there was no close family or friends near by ?
Very sad . RIP Eddie . A real icon who loved the sport and had such passion for F1. Was fun and enjoyable to listen to as well .
My username comes from the fact I used to comment a lot on the old F1 forum on the original 606 as well as the Watford one (and cycling now and then). Growing up in the 90s I was a big fan of the Jordan team as the underdogs who actually could do it, and EJ himself was always a fun character. His recent podcasts with David Coulthard were great, revisiting some of the stories from his past in the sport. Although I still watch it, it does feel like F1 is a more stale place without characters like him and true privateer teams.
Exactly . EJ was a real rags to riches story but also cared about the sport and gave many people a chance whilst having so such respect from others.
