And a belated thought from me I'm afraid I can't join in the 'RIP Chuckfest' Convicted armed robber Convicted transporter / employer of a 14 year old prostitute (and alleged to have slept with her) Case against him for secretly filming women in the bogs of his restaurant only seemed dropped on a technicality Nah...
Much as I'd love to like this, unfortunately the death of some prominent figures are going to provoke responses we won't all agree with. Best I can say is, that I hope people post with an eye to what this board and this thread is about, and as far as possible, respect the right of others to hold alternative views, but be mindful of what we post ourselves and accept that generally, this isn't the thread for deep discussion.
Thread tidied. We've always kept the RIP thread respectful, even for the deaths of those that weren't popular, let's keep it that way.
Didn't notice the removal of posts celebrating Thatchers death, people posting videos and saying they were having a party.
Of course Lambo should, if he was consistent, remove this post because it is disrespectful to someone who has died, but I will just point out the following. The charge against Berry regarding the 14 year old were later overturned (the judge was racist to say the least) and the accusations about her being a prostitute only surfaced later. If we judged people by these standards then people wouldn't admire the world's greatest rock and roll band, or tgecwirld greatest heavy rock band both who had members who had well publicised relationships with 14 year old son, or admire the hip DJ who admitted to relationships with under age girls stating he never stopped to check birth certificates. They wouldn't read my favourite author Graham Greece who had some disgusting likes in his personal life or watch the films of Charles Laughton whose wife used to help procure young boys for him.The list is endless. "The evil men do lives after them; the good is often interred with their bones..." William Shakespeare.
I am glad that the posts were removed. Posters are of course entitled to their own opinion and I hope that the forum will accept my appology for the way I responded. My emotive posts were a reflection of my feelings towards the subject and I should not reacted as I did to patty.
My tablet has this odd habit of if you press the wrong button, g instead of e in this instance, it seem to come up with what seems a word in some Slavic language. The Greece instead of Greene was predictive. Glad to see someone with a bit of literary knowledge notice.
Did you 'tidy' my respectful post about McGuiness? I can't help it that other posters misunderstood it, but it was clearly respectful of his later influence on the bringing of peace. Try reading it properly, it was definitely not disrespectful in any way.
