Terrible, shocking news. Thought he was still working at the club as matchday host or was up until recently. He was a great defender whose partnership with Stan McEwan was crucial to our success at that time. Thoughts with his family.

Devastated at this. Skip was the heartbeat of the side that made me fall in love with City. Getting to speak to him a few times in the past couple of years only served to heighten my hero worship of the bloke. He was as good a man on the pitch as he was tough on it. I was told he was the only one who'd stand up to Billy Whitehurst in training. You need to be tough to do that. Also scored the goal that got us promoted from Division Three at Walsall. A genuine City legend.

The ex-players at the game yesterday were all aware of Skips condition and the atmosphere was as you would expect. Nigel Adkins played with Skip at Wigan and he was also very visibly upset. Great lad. RIP Skip

He didn't only 'come back; from Darlington he was bought with money raised by the supporters. £10k from memory and should never have been released in the first place.
Fabulous player for us. Always 100% for the shirt.
Local lad too as Chazz said earlier. I was privileged to know him away from football.
He typified Hull City during that era.
    Very sad loss.
RIP Skip and thanks for the memories.

That's tremendously sad news. Skip was a stalwart for the Ex-Tigers team for many years and was an affable and formidable opponent. He was a bloody good defender back in the day too, who also contributed his share of goals. Rest in peace big man.

    Very sad news.

RIP Pete. You've left us with some great memories, and I'm sure they'd rather you were still with us, but your family and loved ones can take some comfort from the love and respect people have for you. <peacedove>
