Pete Garner, former bassist of the pioneering English rock band The Stone Roses, has died at the age of 61.

The musician was the Manchester band's original bassist but quit the group in 1987 to work in HMV because he did not feel worthy of being in the group.

Former bandmate Ian Brown led tributes to the late rocker as he claimed 'few loved music as much' as Pete.

Anne Hart, the widow of the late Ronnie Corbett, has passed away aged 90.

Announcing the sad news on Monday, her daughter Sophie Corbett, 55, said she died 'peacefully, surrounded by her family' in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A small group of us all known each other since school, all completely devastated.

I lost a mate two months ago, only 60, he went to bed pissed and never woke up.

Drummer in my first band in the late 70's and an absolutely lovely bloke.

Currently listening to The Cure in eternity.

Earlier this month David Berglas, the first magician to appear on television. Remember watching him in the 1970s. Not an effects magician, more cerebral and a favourite of other magicians. No one has been able to reproduce his most famous card trick the secret of which he never revealed to anyone else. Lived quite a life.
